Hi guys,


I’m currently working on a few projects and trying to stick with white hat SEO only. I understand that it takes time, especially for high competition keywords.


My question is, what strategies are you using to speed up rankings without taking risks?


Right now I’m focusing on:


  • Content quality + search intent
  • Building topical authority
  • Guest posting for backlinks

But I still feel the process is slow.


So I’d like to know:


  • How do you minimize ranking time on competitive keywords?
  • Is there any specific backlink or content strategy that works faster?
  • Do you focus more on inner page links or homepage authority?

Would really appreciate insights from experienced members.

For competitive keywords, the fastest white hat win is usually not targeting the main keyword first, but building supporting long-tail pages around it and passing relevance through internal links. from what i have seen ranking fast on high competition keywords usually takes strong authority plus really solid content depth.I have noticed combining long form content internal linking and a few high quality backlinks gives better chances than trying shortcuts...
 
if you start ranking for lower comp keywords and long tail keywords it will slowly give your website positive signals in googles algorithm and they will begin to index and promote more of your sites pages if users are having a positive experience on the page that is ranking for the low volume / low difficulty keyword.

White hat is slow by nature—you can’t shortcut trust. To speed it up: go after easier long-tail clusters first, build topical authority, and funnel links to a few key pages. Mix homepage + inner page links, but focus on pages that can rank sooner. Momentum beats forcing high-comp keywords early.
 
Start hitting niche edits and haro links hard because standard guest posting is way too slow for tough keywords.
Link your money pages directly from the homepage to push power down fast.
Also keep refreshing your old posts with new info so google keeps them at the top.
 
If you want to rank fast, you should take a shortcut and shortcuts are a part of black hat. If you want to follow white hat strategies, you should build high quality backlinks through manual outreach and increase topical authority through content clusters and internal links.

There is no way to minimize the ranking time. New websites/blogs need a lot of work and of course take 4-6 months to rank. As far as backlinks go the guest posts you are doing are excellent in terms of SEO. Interlinking inner pages is one of the best strategies in order for Google bots to crawl your website/blog.

It may sound strange, but the best way I've found is to create articles with keywords, followed by using Forum backlinks using keyword names in link anchors (again based on article titles)
