Over the past few months, many businesses have reported that their Google reviews are being removed or dropping off within a few days (typically 2–4 days). Based on observed patterns, this issue is usually linked to three core factors: browser environment, IP quality, and Google (Gmail) account trust.

1. Browser Environment

Google closely monitors browser behavior and fingerprint consistency.
  • Basic approach (free):
Using separate Chrome profiles for different users can help maintain basic account separation. Browser extensions that manage proxy routing are commonly used for this purpose.
  • Advanced approach (paid):
Anti-detect browsers such as GoLogin, AdsPower, or similar tools are designed to isolate browser fingerprints and reduce overlap between sessions.

2. IP Quality and Location Consistency

IP reputation plays a critical role in review retention.
  • Low-cost or SOCKS5 IPs are frequently flagged due to poor reputation.
  • Mobile private proxies tend to perform better, while residential proxies are a reasonable mid-range option.
  • IP reputation, device time zone, and geographic consistency must align to achieve a high trust score. Any mismatch can increase the risk of review removal.

3. Google (Gmail) Account Trust

This is the most important factor.
  • Some vendors rely on EDU email accounts to post reviews. If the institution later disables or deletes those accounts, the associated reviews are often removed as well. This makes EDU-based accounts unreliable for long-term use.
  • Newly created Gmail accounts typically require a warm-up period where they behave like normal users before being trusted. Accounts that appear automated or inactive for long periods are more likely to be restricted or banned.
  • Many new Gmail accounts are flagged early, which is why poor-quality or mass-created accounts often fail to retain reviews.

Aged Gmail Accounts & Review Stability

Most aged Gmail accounts have passed through multiple users, so they require careful validation before use. Profile consistency is critical—basic personal details, location signals, and activity patterns must align with the geographic area where reviews are posted. Mismatches between account location and network signals are a common reason reviews are removed.

Account Health Matters
Google evaluates overall account behavior, not just the review itself. Accounts with minimal or unnatural activity are more likely to be flagged. Healthy profiles typically show:
  • Ongoing engagement across Google products
  • Normal communication patterns
  • Diverse, organic interactions over time

Key Takeaway

Google reviews stick when they come from trusted, location-consistent, and actively used accounts. Weak signals, inconsistent geography, or low-quality account history significantly increase the risk of removal. Google review removals are rarely random. They are usually triggered by low trust signals, including browser fingerprint inconsistencies, poor IP reputation, or unstable Google accounts. Long-term review stability depends on authenticity, consistency, and account trust rather than short-term tactics.

google is aggressively removing reviews using automated
AI systems to filter spam, triggering widespread drops
in review counts.
Fake reviews alaways wasting of money and time too. Google act horrible with these types of reviews.

I haven‘t seen any removals at any of our properties or competitors yet.

We don’t really use the $1 review method since those usually get filtered by Google. What we do is help businesses manage their review flow and provide properly written review content that looks natural and passes filters more consistently.

Most of our clients work with us because they don’t have time to chase people for reviews either. We basically help simplify that process. If you want, I can explain how we usually set it up.

Removal of Google reviews is done by Google's algorithms and hence nowadays even 100% legit user's reviews are getting removed, which have nothing to do with IP, browser fingerprint, etc.

Yeah fake reviews don't work well and might flag your website/blog as well.

From my experience, Gmail account trust and activity history seem to be the biggest factors for review retention. Even with a good IP and browser set up, weak or brand-new accounts will still cause reviews to be removed.

Keeping location signals consistent and using accounts with normal activity history seems to help keep reviews live for longer. Google appears to be looking at overall account behavior and not just individual review behavior.

One thing that helps keep Google reviews visible is spacing them out instead of getting a large batch at once. A steady flow tends to look more natural for the profile.

Good breakdown. From what I've seen, account trust is definitely the biggest factor. You can have the best IP and browser setup but if the Gmail account is fresh or low quality, reviews still get removed. Aged accounts with real history perform much better. IP consistency matters too but Google seems to flag mismatches more than specific IP types these days.

A lot of people are noticing this in 2025–2026, and its not just you. Reviews dropping or disappearing onGoogle Business Profile/Google Maps is happening for several reasons, and it’s basically a mix of AI filtering, policy enforcement, and occasional bugs.

Fake reviews will get down as their content are not man written, most of them are AI generated and have similar pattern for every reviews.

If you ask your customers to post their genuine experience then reviews will stick.

Good points op. Accurately this is called Ghosting. You can see review from specific profile on business page for a week but if you click share and then open that link then it will show review is not found. This is another problem. Ghosting happens within 2-3 days but removal from business page or listing happens after a week.

I am losing genuine reviews seemingly at random. No idea why.

You are absolutely right, brother. facing the same issue. did you found any solutions?
