talking to reddit mods for "gray" niches -- is it even possible?

Hey, I'm looking into Reddit for some casino projects because competitors are already getting a lot of traffic from there.

quick question for those who’ve been doing this for a while — do u guys actually try to negotiate with sub moderators for "official" or at least "ignored" placements, or is it a waste of time for gambling? Reaching out to mods in big subs feels like a suicide mission sometimes lol.

How do u find subs where mods are more "open minded" about casino stuff? Or is it strictly a cat-and-mouse game with aged accounts and proxy? would love to hear some real experiences, thanks.

If it's allowed, then it'll be allowed by everyone (even if you bribe the mods). Talking to some mods is useless. It's better to keep quiet in big subs unless they delete posts or reach out to you once. Otherwise it's just an announcement that you are going to spam in their sub.
 
Look for mods who are willing to get paid to let you post, that's how you get to post in subs that no one else is posting in.
 
It's worth a shot. I guarantee you're not the only one offering big gambling subreddits money to "advertise".

Reddit forbids it, but it still happens.

Talking to mods is not useless. We have arrangements with 10's of subreddits to whom we pay a weekly fee for them to ignore our content.

OP, you'll probably only get a positive response and open negotiations with 2 or 3 out of every 50 you contact. So be prepared for plenty of ignores.
 
I would go through the mods reddit to see what type of person they are, and if I get any signals they are open minded, I do contact them.

Talking to mods is not useless. Nowadays, most of them run subs to earn money. I just said that it's useless to contact some mods as they either don't respond or their interests don't align with that of ours. Posts in reddit are like shoutouts in Instagram. It'll take some time and effort to find right deals.

In large gambling subreddits, it’s hard to make deals with moderators - most of the time you either get ignored or banned.
Niche subreddits and slowly building trust through normal activity usually work better than aggressive promotion.
 
Big subs are usually ego management games more than marketing game
