About 4 years and 4 months ago i created the journey thread [http://nothing:https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/journey-making-500-1k-monthly-before-2023-investing-nothing.1381094/,

The journey saw neither it thread itself hitting the third page before it died talk more of been succesful. A lot of factors contributed to it failure, one of which was my inconsistensies but the chief among them where several other factors that were out of my control.

My 18year old self was optimistic or maybe a little bit over optimistic and on this
thread i would do a rereview of the journey, what i did wrong, what i should have done diffrently and what am currently working on.

Disclaimer: am in no way a successful blogger now neither am i working on any blog or neither do i make money from anything online now.

The only notable diffrence between when i started that journey and now is that i started and completed a degree and am currently doing a low paying job,i will talk more on this 2 later on the thread.

Part 1(journey rereview)

All correct, although i can't remember much of how i found this forum, i do remember that at that period i was searching for any active forums on any interesting topic and i find bhw to be vey active.

You do load the BHW one minute and the next few minutes you reload again, and their was diffrent topic and this topic where very interesting and educating especialy for me whose only knowledge on blogging was from facebook groups, some blogs.

Oh and if anybody was wondering from which 3rd world country am from, am from Nigeria.

Here goes the very first 2 mistakes:

1. I only started 1 blog which was on the dirt bike niche(dirtbikelogic.blogspot.com), without an actual domain the blog's .blogspot.com meant the website wont get indexed by google. As you would see if you visit the page i made only 19 posts.

2. I screen record one tutorial,no edit,never posted it,nothing.

3. Nope never got there

Screenshot_20260506-155852.jpg
4. I performed keyword searches using any keyword search tips and free keyword search tools and as you have seen i wrote for some of them and ranked for none

5. I wrote the whole 19 posts myself

6. The phones where:
ZTE u809(bought from my brothers friends, cant remember how much)
Itel a11 giving to me by my cousine when he got a new phone.

7. I could only use phone on the itel, but it was still super slow, writing the the article was easy since i wrote it on my phone, but editing the article on chrome blogger website was a super slow and super laggy process.

Part 2: what i did wrong

1. Starting with $0: First off you dont make money with no money. No money meant i bought no domain, no domain meant i didnt get indexed. It also meant i relied on free hosting which may have contributed my poor performace. I say this cause i later got a .xyz domain(which was what my money could buy) but google either saw this domain as a spam.

2. Using a lagging phone: You dont start or manage a blog using a laggy phone. The poor laggy phone i used then made little tadk like editing/formating my contents including adding inages hard. Thats standing on a bad foot.

3. Wrote more post,i agree 19 is small.

Part 3: what i should have done differently

1. Should have gotten a job instead: if i had a job then i should have gotten an actual domain like a .com domain or at least get a better phone.

But for a second you need to put this in perspective, i should have gotten a job but then it wasnt eady getting one.

Part 4: What am currently doing now

In the 4 years after i created the journey, i pursued and got a bsc degree and now am currently working and getting paid ₦2500 or $1.84 for a 12 hours night shift in a company am able to safe around ₦40,000/$39 out of that a month.

Note: I dont leave with my parent anymore since i traveled for my schooling and i have been paying for all my expenses since i got this job. So some of my salary goes for food, rent and any expenses.

Its mandatory in Nigeria for a graduate goes for 1 year of service(not the army but you get posted to some company to work as something closely similar to an intern or a school as a teacher) you get paid $50-50. I havent registerd for this yet as i want to:

a. Save to buy at least a 4gb laptop

So in the period of my service am thinking of doing game decelopment(yeah i already farmiliar with some programming and has been like that for years even with the laggy phones i still manage to learn and do some programming.

The 2 phone are damaged beyond repair,i currently use a Huawei y9 which i bought from a fellow student in my third year.

To be honest, your efforts are truly commendable, and I hope you achieve your goals. What is the main goal that keeps you moving forward?
