quick da boost usually means spammy links, not worth it. better get local mentions, directories, and niche links. google cares more about trust + context than that score

You’re already off to a good start with citations and a fresh GMB. for quicker growth, focus on getting a few strong local backlinks, optimizing service pages for city keywords, and collecting real reviews fast, local sites can move surprisingly quick once google starts trusting them.
 
If you are launching a new local website, the things that matter include obtaining good local backlinks, optimizing service pages, building good internal links, and getting your citations right. In any case, DA is nothing but a metric that comes from outside and getting rankings would be quicker through other means.

Google is not sitting there checking Moz dA before ranking your site ofc ..

But saying DA is totally useless is also too much IMO.

DA, DR, TF, CF, spam score, what ever its all these are just 3rd party ways to measure something. None of them are perfect.

Can DA be manipulated? ofc But what metric can’t be manipulated?

DR can be manipulated.
TF can be manipulated.
Spam score can be wrong.
Even SERPs can be manipulated. Just check casino, warez, pharma type niches and you will see enough junk ranking.

Just because something can be manipulated doesn’t mean it has zero value ??

Only real Google PR was Google’s own metric. Everything else we use now is from 3rd party tools anyway.

For a fresh local site I wouldn’t chase DA alone though.

Get the basics right first:
service pages, GMB, citations, reviews, local links (if posible) , niche links, internal linking.

Then if you can get links from decent DA/authority root domains, of course it can help. I personally still use DA root domains as one filter when building links. (specially when i run tools )

Not saying DA = ranking.

But authority matters, and DA is one rough way to judge it.
 
Except backlinks, everything else is in your control. So, everyone searches for metrics that give an estimate of their backlink profile. Third party metrics like DA and DR are helpful in this regard. But Google uses their own ranking factors, so you should use these third party metrics only for estimates. As they are meant for backlinks, you can improve them with backlinks alone.

You can easily pump DA and give the ranking signals by running a few tier campaigns. Before getting started make sure to build some web2.0 properties / buffer sites then do start link building to it.

Make sure to add brandable anchors ratio higher than targeted keywords for all tiers

People like to see a number. Big number good. Small number needs improving.
They forget the numbers you should be interested in are your position in the top 10, and the figures in your bank account.
