Yeah this can happen sometimes. Meta Platforms doesn’t always spend evenly, especially if it finds a short window to push delivery. It can look like overspend in a short period, but usually stabilizes later in the day.
I can only say that we were unlucky to get caught in this situation; Meta won't refund that money. I've experienced it before.

Occasionally, meta will encounter such issues. But it will be fixed fairly quickly. However, the real question is whether the money spent without achieving results will be refunded.
I noticed that each time they have some update, the situation goes bad for a while then goes good later.
when this happens, immediately pause the campaign to prevent further bleeding and check if your spend limit was ignored
Meta is allocating our budget inefficiently.
