I have a business listing, and recently someone from my city created a new account with a name practically identical to mine and is making my life miserable to the point that my Google business listing got taken down. What should I do? It's literally the most efficient way I have to gain clients.

Appeal suspension report duplicate listing submit business proof to google..

can you please be more clear on what it is they did besides "make a new account identical to yours"? < can you please elaborate more. Are u talking about your business name? your google profile name? etc etc tnx

This sounds like a classic case of competitor sabotage. You should gather all your legal business documents and file a formal redressal complaint with Google immediately. Proving your business existed first is usually the fastest way to get reinstated.

good point

That sounds like a nightmare. Googles automated system often flags original listings as duplicates when a competitor creates a similar profile, leading to an unfair suspension.

The first thing you need to do is gather all your legal business proof like utility bills, business registration, and photos of your permanent signage. Youll need these for the reinstatement appeal. While you wait for Google to review your case, Id also suggest reporting the fake profile for impersonation through the Business Redressal Complaint Form. Its a bit of a slow process, but once a human at Google sees the conflicting documentation, they are usually good about restoring the original and nuking the fake one.

Use google business redressal complaint form report the fake listing as impersonation attach your business documents and appeal for your original listing do not create a new profile

This. It usually work, if u gonna be lucky, good luck OP!

Contact google support directly with screenshots, they handle impersonation claims fast if you got proof of the duplicate account doing it

Fill out the reinstatement form right away and attach your business license plus some utility bills to prove you're the original shop. You also need to hit them with the Business Redressal Form to report the fake account for impersonation. If you've got photos of your actual storefront or a branded truck, send those in to speed things up.

Sounds like someone is impersonating your business, report the duplicate to Google and submit an appeal with proof (business docs, address, branding) to restore your listing. Also tighten your listings and citations, because local issues like this usually come down to verification and trust signals.

don’t fight him directly, go through system. submit reinstatement with legit business docs, invoices, signage photos. at same time flag his listing for misleading name. google usually sides with original if evidence clean. also push reviews and activity once back, builds trust faster than before
