You can do pretty much everything that you can do in C# mate. It's just that it's not seen as "cool" to write in vb nowadays. There's a few of us old heads who still like to code in vb because it's an easy language to code with but if you're just getting into coding now in .net, then you're best starting with C# mainly because it will teach more common standards and be more relatable among a lot of other languages. Nowadays with vb.net you're learning a syntax which mainly consists of visual basic, vb.net and vba. With C-based languages you will learning a syntax which is relatable for a lot more languages like C++, C#, Java, Javascript and many more. It's like learning English in that you can relate many more germanic languages as opposed to learning slavic - they both have the same outcome but are written and understood differently on the way to the endpoint.
The main thing vb languages have are that because it's a dying language, there will and are lots of legacy software that are built with them, so that can give you the edge. In all seriousness though, with the state of AI now, most of those older software's can be transferred pretty easily by any programmer who know's what they're doing.
I still love vb though no matter what, it was my first language so I'm always going to love it
