Adult Telegram channels keep getting banned

Hey guys,

Quick question for people running adult Telegram channels.

I’ve been testing a setup where a bot reposts clips from other channels to my channel automatically. Under each post I add a few promo links. Nothing crazy, but two of my channels still got banned after a while.


Trying to figure out what might be triggering it.

Couple questions:

• Is it better to run adult channels as private or public?
• Do too many links under posts cause problems?
• Does automation/reposting from other channels increase ban risk?
• Any recommended posting frequency?

Would appreciate any insights from people with experience.

Adult channels get banned mostly due to automation, too many promo links, and user reports.

If a bot is reposting content constantly from other channels, it can look like spam to Telegram. That increases the chance of a ban.

Too many links under posts can also trigger problems, especially if they repeat on every post.

Private channels usually survive longer than public ones because they get fewer reports.

Also, avoid posting too frequently. Try to keep posting more natural instead of automated bulk posting.

A friend has a saas that manages channel subscriptions, and he is getting lots of complaints from subscribers about channels being taken down at random, without any explicit reason.

No matter how many precautions you take, your channel goes down when someone reports it. So, it's better to run private channel or use public channel to redirect users to private groups.

Wave of bans in Q1 and Q4. 1k subs = ban, another time 20k subs = ban. So strange, no tactic.

Im not posting pictures/videos = ban, short link or post direct link to website with no NSFW = ban. WTF Telegram..

But one important thing - from what source you getting subs. If from another NSFW marked channel - risk

Block "based on user reports confirmed by our moderators" means manual moderator review after volume reports, not auto-filter. Read with the appeal endpoint Telegram gives you: this is the ToS block path, not a technical detection. Check it: telegram.org/tos

On the four questions:

1. Public vs private. Public exposes you to mass-report attacks (competitors, trolls, offended visitors). Private invite-only kills that vector. Common 2-tier setup for NSFW: public teaser channel (small clips, no full scenes) for discovery, private pay channel for full content. Bigger reach on public, more resilience on private.

2. Link count. It's not the count, it's the domain. Telegram cross-checks link safety databases. One blacklisted domain hurts you more than 50 clean ones. Test new domains on urlscan.io before linking. Give a fresh domain 30 days of clean reputation before sticking it on every post.

3. Automation/reposting. The reposting itself is fine. The risk is hash-based content matching (Telegram uses similar systems for CSAM and copyright takedowns). If source content was previously flagged, the hash matches and your channel inherits the strike. Verify your source channels have long, clean histories before mirroring.

4. Frequency. 6-10 posts/day in 2-3 hour gaps, with a 5-on/2-off rhythm. 24/7 fixed cadence signals automation. Mix in occasional native posts with no links, vary reaction sets, drop the odd poll.

The single-public-channel-with-promo-links setup is the easiest one to get reported and confirmed against. The 2-tier structure plus link discipline is a more durable way to run this.
