Growing on X usually takes time. Instead of just following people, try posting consistently and engaging with replies in your niche. Many people do not follow back unless they see value or interaction first.

Growth there is slow at start. Following people does not guarantee follow backs. Try posting consistently, engaging with others, and sharing useful or interesting content. Over time, people start noticing and following back naturally.

Only less than 10% people follow back as everyone is interested in growing their followers but not in following others. You can improve your follow back rate by optimising your bio, pinned post, etc. If you offer something to them, they might follow you. Some people even block random followers without profile pic and posts. Your posts and responses will also bring you quality followers who engage with your posts instead of staying there for followers count.

compared to Instagram Twitter is much harder to grow the following at.
Couldn't crack the pattern myself as some posts get notably more views than others, but not that easy to pin point why.

following random people doesnt work anymore on x, you need to reply to big accounts in your niche and post quality content to get follow backs.

From my opinion, Try mixing content types like short opinions, useful tips, questions and trending topics in your niche. only posting promotional stuff usully grows very slowly.

engaging people in the replies is the way to go, just because of character limit many people think you are not supposed to share deep thoughts on x. Take time to think about topics you know well and give thoughful or funny replies, you can get followers that way
