Just create a new one—it’s a common occurrence on RedditMy Reddit account baned. How to urban it?
He grabbed the subreddit off you using the lack of moderation claim. It's a big thing with nsfw subreddits tooHad someone once steal my building/construction help subreddit I was managing with 10k+ followers when I had to go overseas for 2 weeks and wasn't actively responding to messages. The person who stole it was managing 25+ subreddits. Reddit Admins didn't even look properly, just handed it over to him making him primary mod of the subreddit (admins didn't remove me). As soon as they became primary mod, they removed me from the subreddit so I was no longer a mod. I called the guy out who did this, he added me back as a Mod.
Less than a week after being re-added back as a mod, the guy was apparently scamming users on his other subreddits he was managing and the reddit admins banned his account, all his alt accounts and accounts linked which included mine because I was recently added as a mod to the subreddit he stole. I tried to appeal but reddit support never even responded.
In conclusion the guy stole my subreddit and got me banned from reddit with an account with 50k+ karma on it. This is how reddit operates and it's near impossible to get unbanned. I just started over and moved on from it. Ended up getting the subreddit back later since there were no active mods but still today it just shows you that when it comes to reddit, anything can happen and your reddit account eventually being banned is something that could happen to anyone.

it is not 2 days, it is at least 5 days.Yes that's what he did. Im sure the admins at the time saw he was managing alot of subreddits, could handle it and just added him as top mod. However there was a window for me to respond before the admins would take action, I was overseas so I wasn't all that active busy with other things and within 2 days they just made him top mod. I think if I remember the canned reply said I needed to respond within 4-7 days otherwise they may make changes to the subreddit. They did it within 2 days.
Point here to the OP is that it's easy to lose access and it's really beyond your control as they have next to no support to help you.
It's an evil world we live in Some can grab the method here, grow high Karma accounts and manage some subreddits, then claim some good subreddits and sell themYes that's what he did. I'm not a very active Reddit user yet, so I don't exactly know how everything works there, but it's strange that Reddit has no protection for subreddit owners against such unlawful actions. So what it comes down to is that if a subreddit owner or moderator stops responding to messages for any reason, anyone can just take over their subreddit?Had someone once steal my building/construction help subreddit I was managing with 10k+ followers when I had to go overseas for 2 weeks and wasn't actively responding to messages. This is a strange situation overall. If we draw an analogy with TG, any user can create a channel or group and they will be the Owner of their channel or group (like the main boss). The Owner can appoint and remove administrators (moderators) in their channel or group, giving them certain rights, but moderators cannot remove the Owner from the channel or group because they don't have those rights, regardless of how many channels or groups they moderate. Isn't it the same on Reddit? They need to actually show they can manage subreddits. They don't just hand it over to anyone. The person who stole the subreddit was managing 25+ subreddits so I assumed the admins looked into it and thought this person knew what they were doing and just added him as a mod which ends up being the top mod.
As soon as he took control of the subreddit, he removed me. I did complain to him and he added me back. What happened is the guy was running multiple accounts and when his account was banned, reddit banned all his accounts and linked mine to his because I was recently added as a mod to my subreddit he stole.
It's really bad luck. I suppose I will in the future try to petition again and again to get that account reopened but at least I did get the subreddit back and rebuilt up some new accounts. I don't do anything unethical on reddit and follow their policies. I'm very careful with what I do on reddit and yet even I was screwed over after years of good service to reddit.

is that ai genetated answer as u not read postYep, Reddit bans are real and unbanning isn’t magic. If it got banned, you’re probably out for good. Just start fresh and keep it boring this time—no spicy stuff that trips the filters. Been there, done that; you live and learn, lol.
