I just mean that once a platform touches someone else's money, a whole new set of regulations get involved.

I know Escrow is planned as part of Marketplace 2, but the back-end stuff involved in that means it's going to take a while.

Also maybe @LUCKY AGENCY MEDIA as well? The account at issue in this thread had stuck in my head as I found it baffling that he (and another user @ChibiCosmic posted laughing emojis in the Lucky Agency dispute post where a member had been scammed for $7k, not exactly a small chunk of change. I had actually written to the mods as the Chibi account seemed hinky, but I didn't have any proof. Rather just a gut feeling that a few post histories seemed too...coincidental.

I had no proof or any concrete evidence though, so rightfully there was nothing for the mods to act on at the time. They're all banned now so what's done is done, but there are probably more. Based on reading over time, it seems like when there's a new 'trend' in scamming it ends up being either one person or a small group working together. I feel for the mod team, talk about whack a mole :/

No sir, I don't know them.

I read the dispute thread and I saw that he refunded the customer twice, but the account is still banned.

I'm wondering why he was banned and what the reason is.

And does BHW protect advertisers, or only users?
 
Everyone, we are still working on investigating everything that has gone on here. There's a lot that went on and we're picking apart the pieces.

With that being said, please keep an eye on the Dispute Resolution Rules and the News & Updates section as new DR policy is being implemented today (it'll be up within the hour).

Could BHW establish a custodian institution? This would ensure the safety and trustworthiness of transactions, and charging a fee to operate the custodian platform—3%, 5%, or even 10% would be acceptable, in my personal opinion.This can deter the vast majority of scammers; in fact, we are all struggling with the lack of reliable cryptocurrency custody.

that can be second but main problem is Telegram here. If you ask to send pm no one will reply here on bst. But in Tg they are more than active. They send you payment details in 2 seconds. But if you asked to send pm then dont expect any reply.

admin need to ban TG . if any one want to contact person outside from bhw they can ask in their thread and seller can send via pm. This way all communication stays on BHW and help also in dispute. If no dm message on blackhatworld means no communication start on BHW.

This will make more simple system and everything will locked in BHW. They can still give TG via pm but that will be recorded.

If someone responds instantly on telegram but not on bhw that's already a red flag. When I work I always have a tab open with bhw, even though I'm not even a seller and I also don't buy that often. So you can't tell me a seller here on bhw doesn't always have a tab open on their browser and look on bhw every once in a while. Maybe the admins could add (not sure if that's already implemented) a blinking notification on the open bhw tab if you get a DM.

I believe escrow services are the best approach. The buyer transfers the funds to BHW, both parties confirm the detailed transaction information, and after the seller delivers the goods, a validity period (3, 7, or 10 days) is set. When the buyer confirms everything is correct on the last day, BHW releases the funds to the seller. Even if the buyer doesn't respond within the deadline, the funds are still released. In case of disputes, BHW reviews and makes a judgment. BHW charges a percentage of the transaction amount as a commission, which I believe can at least deter 99% of potential scammers.
 
As buyers, we are not purchasing from random individuals - we are buying through BlackHatWorld. That’s a significant difference.

We trusted the platform because BlackHatWorld is a large and well-known forum. When we see a Junior VIP or a service that appears approved and tested by admins, it creates a sense of reliability.

If someone simply shares their Telegram on Reddit, we would never contact or trust them. Our trust is in the BlackHatWorld platform, not in the individual user.

However, if a scam happens on Telegram, BlackHatWorld does not cover it. I’ve noticed many cases where users have scam reports and negative reviews on their BST threads, but no formal dispute is raised - mainly because the transaction happened off-platform via Telegram.
 
Well then just keep all messages on bhw and don't go over to telegram. If you want to buy something from eBay you don't contact the seller outside from eBay right? Because then you would also get scammed...simple

If all contact strictly happens on BHW then you will most likely not get scammed, same like on other platforms. Even if you buy something on fiverr they will tell you several times to not contact a seller outside of fiverr.
