Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading a lot about SEO strategies lately and I’m curious about the current state of black hat SEO.
A few years ago, techniques like PBNs, automated backlinks, and expired domains were very popular. But with Google updates becoming more advanced, I wonder if these strategies are still working today.
For those who are actively testing SEO strategies:
• Are black hat methods still profitable in 2026?
• Which techniques still work without getting sites penalized quickly?
• Do you think combining white hat and black hat strategies is better now?
I’d really like to hear the experience of members who are currently testing different SEO methods.

Ofcourse it’s effective, more so than whitehat stuff if you’re still ahead of the curve and aren’t relying too much on outdated methods.

They are profitable if you scale fast, then they die if you get caught by Google. You can use PBNs but with your own risk. I suggest using only whitehat SEO strategies if you want to grow on the long term.
 
black hat SEO still “works”… but it’s way more fragile now. With updates like Google Search getting smarter, tactics like PBNs or spammy backlinks can give short-term boosts, but they usually get wiped out sooner or later.

In 2026, some people still play with things like expired domains or controlled link networks, but it’s more of a churn-and-burn game (rank → earn → get penalized → repeat). Not exactly stable or beginner-friendly

Mixing white + black (grey hat) is common, but it’s risky you might grow faster, but you’re always one update away from losing everything.

Real talk: if you want something long-term and stress-free, stick mostly to white hat. Black hat is more like gambling than a business
 
It’s definitely still working the fastest way to see a return on your $$$, if you use high-quality expired domains and solid authority backlinks,
you can jump to the top of the search results way faster than playing by the rules.
It's still a gold mine for quick rankings if you know what you're doing.

Reading will only get you so far, as will third-party opinions. The best way to test what BH SEO tactics are working is to try them out on either easy keywords with simple websites, or parasites. Actual feedback in the form of rankings is far better than having read a dozen ebook courses.
 
From what I’ve seen, some black hat stuff still works, but it’s way less stable now. In my experience, PBNs and expired domains can still give a push, but they need to look more natural or they don’t last. I feel like a mix of solid content + a few controlled links works better than going full black hat. Pure spam tactics seem to burn out fast now.

AI is like an arms dealer that sells weapons to both sides. While it made things like writing bulk content extremely easy, it also made it easy to detect such content. So, the founding principles of SEO still remain the same. You publish helpful content that has demand and is better than others, you win. The ranking signals like authority are still same, so you still need to build backlinks. The old school strategies like PBNs, guest posts, expired domains, etc. are still working but AI helped search engines to process bulk data and easily detect them. So, leaving footprints online became a million times more risky. People who are careful are still winning the game.
 
I have seen several people talking about Parasite SEO these days, surely that must be working for some people quite a now..
