Which laptop you recommend for work?

macbook pro, it's what i'm using, no regrets so far

I don't like how pricey apple can be, but having used many laptops and trying the apple M1 chip and currently the M5 chip, i can say there's no competition when it comes to apple laptops.

It's just so fast and you don't even hear noisy fans. The battery lasts all day and the performance doesn't degrade when you unplug it from the charger... So, if you can afford buy a Macbook air or Pro, depending on your needs.

Get at least 16gb ram and ssd thats what matters most.

I use thinkpad and macbook both handle 10 tabs easy, cheap laptops lag cause low ram not brand.

I use Macbook Pro 2023, never got a single problem using it. You can also try Macbook pro series

I'm using a MacBook Air.
Currently, I have more than 20 tabs open on one Chrome profile with no issues

I also have another profile active with about 6/7 tabs there

From what I can see so far from the recommendations in the thread... MacBook should be your next PC if you haven't tried it already : D

I recommend Asus VivoBook 16, really solid choice if you're looking for durable working station with a solid performance and long battery life. I would recommend upgrading to 32 gb of RAM right away tho, 16 GB that it comes with is barely enough for me, as soon as you start windows it gets up to 45-50 percent of used RAM, might be Windows 11 fault but still.

If you have the budget MB Pro.

For internet tabs this is what I have:

4x Brave Browser windows open
1. Private - 5 tabs
2. Private - 8 tabs
3. Normal - 14 tabs
4. Normal - 16 tabs

1x FireFox Window
9 tabs open

Yes it's a lot - stop judging

Edit: I should add, I'm close to maxed out with all of that going on

Damn Windows likes to waste a lot of RAM, I lowkey wish I went with MacBook as well.

That's what I use as my main machine. It came with 32 RAM so didn't even need to upgrade. Like with any windows computer my first step was removing all the bloatware, that dramatically lowers RAM usage on start up

Multiple tabs on 4 browsers (currently 11 open on Chrome alone), video and image editing programs open, it can handle anything

Huge fan of Asus in general but this has been my best purchase of any laptop yet, by far

Like everyone else recommended, Macbooks are surprisingly value for these type of things. I use a Lenovo one when I have to bring it outside, but otherwise Mac is up there as far as work laptops go.

for windows i5, 8GB RAM, 500gb SSD can easily 15 tab at a time on chrome.

ram is the real culprit here, not the brand. 10-12 chrome tabs will eat 8-10gb on their own before you even open anything else.

whatever you get next, minimum 16gb ram and an ssd. i'd push for 32gb if you're also running any tools in the background. had the same problem buying budget laptops thinking specs didn't matter, until I stopped skimping on ram and the issue just disappeared.
