Facebook glitch or real?

Hi all, hopefully someone may be able to shine a light on this one.

I have been posting facebook reels getting around 2million views a week when all of a sudden I was hit with unoriginal content and my page is no longer being recommend. All content is my own, and I edit all personally. However, when I check my page status it show no violations? My reach has dropped like a stone and now only getting like 200-300 views per reel when my others were hitting up to 500k views. Is this a glitch? Should I delete all my reels and will this lose all my views & engagement metrics? I have appealed, but I don't trust that it won't just be another automated ai check as I'm pretty sure no real people work at Meta any more lol. Thanks in advance (screenshot for reference)

This usually isn’t a glitch. When Meta flags “unoriginal content,” it can quietly limit distribution even if your Page Quality shows no violations. It’s more of a recommendation penalty than a strike.
I wouldn’t delete all your reels — you’ll lose social proof and it rarely fixes the issue. Instead, try:
  • Posting completely new formats (different hook, structure, captions)
  • Avoiding reused clips, templates, or trending audio for a while
  • Slowing down posting frequency for 1–2 weeks
  • Mixing in some non-reel content
Sometimes reach comes back gradually if the system re-evaluates your content as original. Deleting everything usually does more harm than good.

The ban might not be on your page, but on your Facebook account. Try posting using a different Facebook account.

This is unlikely to be a software bug — Facebook sometimes limits distribution when its originality systems flag content automatically.
Deleting your Reels could erase valuable engagement history, so I’d avoid mass deletion.
Instead, keep posting fresh, clearly original content and wait for your appeal with Meta to process.
Many pages recover reach over time once the system re-evaluates new activity.
 
There are still real people working at Facebook, but AI is used to scan most accounts and fan pages. They control the AI for all users on the platform, so mistakes are bound to happen.
My advice is to contact MetaSupport for the quickest answer; they will remove the restrictions if there is indeed a mistake.

Yeah, I’ve seen this happen — Meta’s “unoriginal content” flags can hit even original stuff, usually automated.


Deleting reels doesn’t guarantee recovery and can hurt metrics. Best bet: leave them, keep posting fresh, slightly edited content, and appeal again.


Sometimes it’s just the algorithm resetting reach after a false flag.

Have you contacted facebook support? If not then this is the first step you should do. The second is to stop posting for like a week or so and then return back to posting original content in order for the facebook algo to "pick up" your content as original again and reccomend your page again.
 
I think it's great that you've already appealed the decision, Mulfro, and I would definitely avoid deleting your existing Reels as it could erase valuable engagement history. Have you considered reaching out to MetaSupport directly, as suggested, to get a more personalized review of your case? It's possible that the AI system flagged your content incorrectly, and a human review could help resolve the issue. Can you tell us more about the type of content you're posting and whether you've noticed any changes in your audience engagement or comments during this time?
 
Most likely, you have been shadowbanned. Either you need to wait about a week and not post anything, or simply create a new group.
 
In my opinion, you should pause posting for a few days, avoid editing your posts, and make minor formatting changes to rebuild engagement signals. And you should continue to file your appeal with Facebook.
