Running an agency in Latin America gives an interesting perspective on this. The SMM reselling market here is way less saturated than in the US/Europe, but the challenge is finding quality services that actually target our audience.
A few observations from operating in this market:
- Clients in LATAM are very price-sensitive but also very aware of fake followers. They check. If they see a bunch of Indian profiles
following their Mexican restaurant's Instagram, they'll call you out immediately.
- The margin opportunity is actually better than in English-speaking markets because there are fewer providers. If you can find genuine LATAM-targeted services, you can charge 5-10x wholesale easily.
- Facebook is still huge in Mexico and Central America for business. Unlike the US where it's declining among younger demographics,
FB is still a primary platform for local businesses in LATAM.
- WhatsApp marketing is massive here but almost no SMM panels touch it. That's a gap someone should fill.
For anyone thinking about serving the LATAM market — there's definitely money there, but you need to solve the geo-targeting problem first.
