I am planning to use anti detect browser for managing multiple reddit profiles. But recently i came across portable Mozilla Firefox. I tried my hands and it literally looks like an anti detect browser but only thing is, you need to have multiple portable browser copies.

Now i am not much technically sound here, but doesn't this makes a free alternative to costly antidetect browsers? Simply add proxies to the portable browser, add account and create copies ti maintain multiple. Or am i missing something?

As portable comes as complete package, i don't think the footprint will go outside of the package. Experts, please help.

Don't forget that in anti-detect browsers you can also configure system fingerprints. Anti-detect browsers have more flexible settings than just using Firefox with a proxy.

Although, of course, you can try it. Let's say, to see for yourself from experience. Maybe you'll get lucky and the accounts will last a long time. Although Reddit doesn't ban based solely on the browser and proxy; it has a lot of its own reasons why an account might get suspended.

Do you foresee any fingerprint leaks outside portable Firefox? Here i am not talking about regular Firefox btw. It's a portable one which does not need any installation but has all it's installation files in single folder. Duplicate the folder and you have another portable Firefox. Configure each with unique proxy and accounts and it should work. Unless i am missing any machine id or something getting tracked as footprint by reddit.

Mate, as a matter expert working as senior dev with such things....forget your portable browser, lol, it's not fit for purpose it doesn't matter how it "looks", from a functionality , it does not get anywhere near close.

This is not a field where it can be "almost", "kinda" it either isn't or not. Period.

Anti detects also have some certain limitations and aren't all that easy to set up these days, defaultnsettings will go nowhere and you need to understand the adjacent technologies , too.

Just delete that little pos FF product from memory as if it never occurred to you and move on, do not bother trying that , lol

Portable browsers and antidetect tools aren’t the same—antidetect platforms focus on isolating fingerprints at a deeper level, not just profiles and proxies. Relying only on portable browsers can still leave detectable signals and isn’t always a reliable substitute.

Portable Firefox helps a bit, but it still leaks stuff like hardware and OS signals, so it’s not the same as real antidetect.

antidetect browser making a lot of things on background.

portable firefox only separates sessions. it doesn’t hide browser fingerprints. reddit can still link accounts. antidetect browsers work because they spoof fingerprints properly.

From experience, incognito works only short-term. Once you manage several accounts, proper session and fingerprint separation helps a lot. If you’re unsure, some anti-detect tools let you try up to 10 profiles for free, which is an easy way to test if it makes a difference.

You’ve hit on a clever observation! Using portable Firefox instances with proxies is indeed gaining traction as a more budget-friendly alternative to dedicated anti detect browsers, especially for tasks like Reddit profile management. The key consideration would be ensuring proper isolation between each instance and diligently managing proxy rotation to avoid detection, it's a solid approach if executed carefully.

Hmm, not wrong I suppose.
If it's for isolating profiles sure but it doesn't serve as much as anti-detect when it comes to isolating fingerprints. Sites are generally gonna care more about things like canvas or WebGL, TLC behaviour, such which I don't think portable browsers do a well enough job for in controlling.
Have used them before, worked well enough within it's intended use case. For most parts though, it's gonna be anti-detect browsers that does it.

Portable Firefox only separates cookies and local files. It doesn’t really change your browser fingerprint. If you copy it multiple times, all those browsers still look like the same device to Reddit, even if you use different proxies. That makes linking accounts pretty easy. Portable Firefox might work short-term for 1–2 accounts, but it’s not a real replacement for running multiple Reddit accounts safely. An antidetect browser can give each profile a different device fingerprint and keep it stable with the IP, which makes every account look like it’s coming from a separate real device and lowers the risk of bans long term.

Why do you spend money on browsers ?

Even on a small 4 TB hard drive you can install 50 Linux installs per Terrabyte, one VM for each account
It scales easily on larger drives. They are each unique and never interfere with each other
You only need to pay for proxies

An antidetect browser performs several operations behind the scenes to ensure isolation and privacy.

That's interesting. So you mean, the different OS installs will hide device footprints too?

Anti-detect browsers cannot bypass Reddit’s moderation. I’ve used them myself, and they weren’t effective.

Portable browser is an individual browser whereas antidetect browser is an individual device. Each portable browser works as a separate browser within the same device. It's just like using one browser each for a profile. You'll leave a lot of footprints to ban your accounts if they look deep into the hardware and OS. Antidetect, if configured properly, creates individual devices (not literally) that are distinct from each other. So, antidetect is safer than portable browser.

Antidetect is made for anonymousity, it's still the best, they're many tools that can be used in it like Internet Fingerprints manipulation
