High risk payment processor w/ shopify

Just ditch Shopify Payments and connect a high-risk gateway like PayKings, Soar, Bankful, or Easy Pay Direct. They all have Shopify apps and can approve nutra/CBD/vape/adult merchants in 1–3 days

Unless you want to play with stealth accounts, better to find a reliable high risk merchant. Stealth accs should only be considered if conversion rates without them are too low. Long term, reliable high risk merchant is better, but be prepared to have a percentage of your funds held for 6 months to a year.

You can use a third party processor on shopify even for high risk stuff. You just need a provider that supports it like soar payments or a merchant account through authorize.

Does anyone know if there's any way to implement a high risk or even a 3rd party payment processor with shopify? As we all know, shopify payments can be extreme with holds and bans.
Yes, you can connect high risk or third party payment processors to Shopify. Services like Authorize.net, NMI, DigiPay, or PaymentCloud work fine, and you can add them through Shopify’s “Third party payment provider” settings.

“You can use third-party payment gateways with Shopify, including ones that support high-risk merchants. Just choose a compatible provider (such as Authorize.net, SoarPay, ZenPayments). Since Shopify Payments can hold funds or ban accounts, using another gateway is completely possible — just check their fees and approval requirements.

Common high risk options that integrate with Shopify include PaymentCloud, PayKings. We have tried it with few websites and it works smoothly

Use Stealth PayPal or Stripe to accept credit card payments, and Cryptomus to accept crypto payments + CC Bill. Easy Pay Direct or any other high-risk payment processor if they accept you

Can you tell a little bit more about what stealth account is

Stealth accounts would usually be verified paypal or stripe accounts, opened and maintained with different details(names, email addresses, documents),different browsers/devices, different ips...etc from your main account. If done properly, you could in theory have an endless supply of verified paypal/stripe accounts so you never have to worry about chargebacks and account closures.

You can connect your cloaked stripe account to shopify

Shopify allows external gateways, but for high risk products, make sure the processor is experienced and ready for potential holds or reviews.

Most high risk payment gateways do not support shopify websites. Your best option is switching to wordpress and integrate payment gateways like paykings or peerwallet.

Yes, you can add third-party gateways in Shopify's settings ("Alternative Payments").

But this is a trap. Shopify is also your host. Even if your gateway is happy, Shopify’s internal risk team will scan your catalog. If you are high-risk, they won’t just ban your payments—they will delete your entire store.

If you want stability:
  1. Migrate to WooCommerce (Self-hosted).
  2. Own the infrastructure.
  3. Integrate a specialized high-risk gateway (or a cloaked PayPal backend) that Shopify can't tamper with.
Don't build a high-risk business on rented land.

For Shopify, I would first separate two questions:

1. Do you need a direct third-party card processor?
2. Or do you need a broader setup with hosted checkout, alternative rails, and a different settlement flow?

Most high-risk Shopify issues come down to business category, customer countries, monthly volume, average ticket, chargeback ratio, refund policy, and whether Shopify allows the integration route you want.

I would avoid stealth or cloaked payment setups if you want something that lasts. They can work briefly, but they usually create a bigger funds-hold problem later.

A serious provider will normally ask for underwriting details before giving a real answer.
