I tried Godaddy and they tell me I need to be spanish and upload documentS.

This is usually from the es provider itself since GoDaddy is just a seller

I use 101domain for .es with no issues, though for some other tlds like .it you need to pay for a trustee service, which is around $12-$15.

As I understand anyone that has ties to Spain can register one, like if you market your product or service to Spain, just need to ID your-self.

You should check NamePros or Dynadot Auctions for expired ones

BTW. I havent found a registrar for .es domains. NO KYC
