Just sharing my personal experience about Itch.io, a marketplace to sell games, ebooks and digital products in general.

There are several problems about this shitty marketplace:

1) 12 days to receive a payout. It's manually approved or rejected.

2) Depending on your location, you will probably pay something like 30% in fees and taxes. Have you ever seen such a huge % from any payment processor? Even Fiverr is better than this garbage.

3) Support? You're fucked, they are completely amateurs, they take 12 days to just approve a payout, what do you think about average issues? You'll probably wait over a week to get an answer.

How about the answer? 100% amateur. Sorry, I've already dealt with garbage services like Njalla (that amateur domain register) and it's the same level. It seems those services are being runned by teenagers, literally.

Ok, being amateur and low quality it's a sad average for services nowadays.

But the worst part: they are scammers too.

Today after some sales, I finally asked for a payout and they took over 2 weeks to answer this:

''You have been permanently suspended for fraudulent activities. Cease use of all services on itch.io immediately. This decision will not be reversed.''

Fraudulent activities based on what? I don't have any idea, I was just selling digital products (created by me) and instantly automatically delivered after the payment.

So, as you can imagine, with this kind of support and weeks to receive any answer, I'm fucked.

Money won't be sent and they can just accuse you of ''fraudulent activities'' based on nothing, they don't need to explain anything at all, just reject your payout and tell you to fuck off. It's like playing russian roulette. You might get lucky and your payout will be approved. Or maybe not, and you'll be accused of fraud and lose money on this crap.

So, just stay away from Itch.io and this kind of shitty marketplace runned by amateurs, that's my personal review for itch.io, not legit, not safe.

I can also negatively vouch for Itch, their forum have people complaining about delayed payouts for weeks, some people are waiting for a payout for over 100 days, it's like PayPal freezing funds. They don't have any customer service.

I actually had a look at this site over the weekend and I found it unusable. I've no idea how anyone navigates around that place, its design is unforgivably shitty.
