Yo BHW crew,
Let me walk you through a painful lesson — and the weird little change that saved the campaign.

The Setup:

Niche: Weight loss tea (gray-zone, obviously)
Hook: “I drank this every night before bed. In 2 weeks, my jeans didn’t fit anymore…”
Creative: Story-style image with handwritten text
Budget: $15/day
Target: Women 30–55, mobile only, Vietnam & Philippines

What Happened:

  • Post went viral: 140 comments, 900+ reactions, 22 shares
  • CPC: $0.12
  • CTR (link): 3.1%
  • Sales: 0
  • Cart view dropoff: 93%
I was like: “What the hell. Why does viral = broke?”

What I Found (and Fixed):

I dug into everything — comments, site heatmap, link clicks…
Turns out: my audience was broke
They loved the story. They saved it. They commented things like:
“Where can I get this?”
“I need it for my mom ”
“I want this but can’t afford it right now…”

⚙ What I Changed:

Instead of killing the ad, I rebuilt the funnel:
  1. Added a “Free 3-Day Detox Plan” PDF giveaway — soft CTA
  2. Used the same ad post → sent them to a Telegram bot for auto-delivery
  3. After PDF delivery, I offered a bundle discount + limited-time offer

The Logic:

Instead of selling cold, I let them opt-in emotionally → gave value → followed up via Telegram with urgency + social proof.

What Happened Next:

MetricBeforeAfter
Leads/Day041
Sales/Day07
ROAS0.2x3.4x
Cost per Lead$0.28
Telegram subs0293 (7 days)

Key Takeaways:

  • Viral ≠ Converting. Vanity metrics are traps.
  • Don’t kill the ad if it’s engaging — repurpose the intent.
  • Telegram > Email in emerging markets. Open rate = insane.
  • Sometimes your offer is wrong, not the ad.

If you’ve ever had an ad blow up and bring zero ROI — don’t just rage kill it.
Pause. Study. Redirect.
Would love to hear if anyone’s using Telegram-first funnels or similar “bait then bridge” strategies.
Stay sharp,
Lihtih
