Crazy Google Dance In The Last 24 Hours

People that his website tanketed hard +80% of the organic traffic, could tell which is his TF / CF ratio? My own websites that were literally dissapeared from the searcher has super low TF compared to CF. Also they all have WEB 2.0 spun content, but i doubt it has to do with it.

Website 1:
TF : 3
CF : 35

Website 2:
TF : 8
CF : 41

Look, I DO NOT believe there was a full Penguin update but.... if I were Google and based on what you guys are saying I'd say the AI may have made some SMALL adjustments doing something like this: give less link juice to low authority multi-niche (or changed niche) websites that were redesigned/dropped/expired in the last 18 months. This would effect people who bought public PBNs, or built a private PBN on a domain that they changed the topic/niche of. And even THIS is a stretch in my humble opinion. Seems equally likely that Google just busted a few PBN networks and the damage spread, or that the AI changed some sliders for judging certain niches. But I honestly do NOT think this was an actual "update" from Google. You have to keep in mind that the Google Brain AI changes tons of things on a daily basis to balance out the SERPS. So finding out any ONE cause to this pounding many of you took will be hard, it may be several factors you all have in common.

Mine
URL:
TF : 13
CF : 17

Entire domain:
TF:7
CF:19

My entire domain dropped cause I had a buch of sites who are hotlinking my images with 0 TF. (Should I disavove them?)

I am thinking this update is aimed towards some PBN networks.

Agree with you!

Well if it helps you, I had a site disappear in February. Old site, no SEO done on it (except on page). It slowly returned and is fully back in the SERPs. But at one point it got totally removed. Dunno what that was. Maybe your site will return in the coming days / weeks.
Did you do anything to recover? Disallow/New links/Change content?

My site is still in limbo. Don't know if letting it stay like that and see what happens, try to improve it, or build a new one.

Thanks!

I did nothing. It disappeared, I looked and said well shit. Then I worked on some other projects for a few weeks. It came back just like that.

I have a 10 year old domain, never had hit by google panda etc... and now, after this march update, it lost 2/3 of organic search in all domain.
The same pages continues to get some traffic, but I lost exactly 2/3 of organic search for all pages of the site.
So, in my case, it is like the domain was penalized. But I do not get any message in gwt.
Ya, that happened to me in 2013 Oct. After this update the penalty was removed.

One of my golden keywords (single-worded keyword) was consistently ranking at no. 2 (below wikipedia) for the longest time.

That particular keyword landed me a few big contracts and I was happy. My clients were happy.
The birds were chirping and flowers were blooming... until 3 days ago, a new dude with a 5 month old domain dethroned and banished me
to - 50!!:mad:  Did a quick research and found something that might help

1. That new website is just 5 months old.
2. Has very little quality backlinks, most of them coming from directories, forum profiles and comments.
3. What dude has is content. Well written articles, over 300 of them with very strong local references.
4. My site is 99% whitehat, most backlinks coming in from legit websites. Content-wise, pretty strong but slowed down lately
5. My other keywords started improving (from > 20 to Top 10)

As I'm typing this, my golden keyword started dancing to Page 2.
I'm guessing this is probably temporary since (2) and (3) is gonna cancel out each other soon. It's either that or I'm just trying to make myself happy.
All doom and gloom last wednesday but couple of things happened over the weekend;
1. Over the weekend, site acquired highest weekend traffic since 2014
2. My golden keyword has climbed back to #6 from #50. Google now displays 2 site results (home & services page) for same keyword (6th & 7th)
3. New dude with the 5 month old website has slide down to #5 from #2
4. Many of my other top keywords have appeared in Top 10 results (From Page 2 - Page 5)
5. I am happy AF

I've been in this situation before (many times infact although not this bad) and I'm seeing some kind of pattern here whereby Google just wipe out the top rankers temporarily while they 'recalculate' site 'scores' based on the latest algo. Barring any new stupid updates, I'm expecting my site to climb back to its original position.

Happy for you, bro.

This gives me some hope that my site will come back from the depths of hell as well.

My traffic has dropped 25% or so after having 450+ first page keywords with only 15 blog posts.

The only over optimization is off page anchor text on my Web 2.0s. I will change them and report back.

Google is just testing some changes - they will either roll it back soon or perform a full deploy.

The GSC analytics look really funny - there's just no data for 9th March

I'm really happy to see that your site is recovering. Facing the same drops, wish my site could make it too.

Happy for you and good to know! Hope it spreads to the rest ; )

PBN problem resolved.

xDDD!

I've been analyzing everything a bit more... and it's surreal. The two main companies of my niche have also been affected by this. They fallen from #1 and #2 positions in some medium keywords to page 2, page 3, or out of the TOP100. Meanwhile, companies virtually no one knows about, have risen to the TOP3 from being completely lost in the SERPs. Some even with two results in the TOP10.

These two companies I speak of are the two main companies in the sector in my country, and very important worldwide. On ver few keywords I (or anyboday else) have managed to rank above them the past 3 years. And yet, they don't seem good enough for lots and lots of keywords now.

This is a bit of relief, in the sense that if these two monsters and leaders of the sector have experienced this, it's normal that I have to.

WTF have you done Google...?

I have a feeling that Matt left G and went to work elsewhere because he knew that they are going to screw up something like this. :D

16 pages of pure awesomeness, going to take my time on this one.. yeaaah keep it up folks, ME WANTS ALL pf your Juicy juice Muahahahaha!

Thanks OP for starting this thread, i don't have much to add to it sadly but hey, consider this a pump :D
