Hope that's true, although I highly doubt it...

But yes, I'm speaking to people that got hit on several sites. They also don't have a clue. Some with agressive link profiles are ok. Some they have taken care to keep it as whitehat as possible, have been hit. Meanwhile, spammy sites are still up there (although I guess some will have been hit too).

Dude thats not logical to hit pure aged white hat sites and only after THEN hit spammy ones, they definitely fucked something up big time
 
The update seems to be targeting new sites, 2 of my 4 years old sites have booming traffic and 5 the sites created in last 1 year have seen 50% of drop in traffic. Also the keywords seem to be intact but half of the traffic is gone, maybe the long term keywords I was ranking for have been hit. Has anyone recovered from this yet?

wierd because im experiencing completely reverse thing lol site I made last year in february are ranking like it was for past month while the one I stopped working back in june 2016 just dropped 80% traffic on feb 7 (althought the site was losing links for past 1 year so its because of that)
 
one of my site also got hit, more than a year domain with 50 post, not my main site but god damn..

can you tell us more about your website?

1) did you build links in past 3 months? if yes - only pbn or spammy? many or low amounts?
2) how is your anchor is it overoptimized?
3) have you been updating the page frequently?
4) is it amazon aff/blog/e-comerce/what kind?
5) have you used any bhw services?
6) unique content?

Tell you the truth, i almost abandon this site since it's not performing quite the way i wanted, last time i made links was back in August last year, however since i have more time, January-February i try to build some links to it.

1. Yes, just some Profile Links, Comment Links, Web 2.0 and High PA Web 2.0, like tumblr, weebly, blogspot, and so on
2. 448 Backlinks, 93 RD (ahrefs) 13 % URL, 12 % DOMAIN.COM, 7% Brand - Keyword, and others
3. Last update was back in September
4. An entertainment aff site
5. Yes, i ordered a PBN Post on BHW awhile back in December 2015 if i'm not mistaken
6. All unique content
 
Few of my low quality websites that had thin content and completely automated links built do them got hit. Those were only for testing and it seems that Google still doesn't love them.
 
None of this matters.

Eventually in the not too distant future all of Google page 1 will be Google adwords, google maps, google shopping, and 3/4 way down page 2 will be google adwords, google shopping, and google images.

If you want to play, you'll have to pay.
 
some of my kws are one day #15 second day #95 and will come back i believe. Something like @monty82 but just like one-three pages out of 13 on the same domain so i guess im not "hit".

so it looks like the case with two of my sites that also got hit, I stopped working on them almost year ago - no link building, they were losing links for past 1 year and now traffic dropped by 80% on BOTH there is strong correlation with 2 of my sites and the one you are describing considering the fact that rest of the sites I work on that keeps receiving links didnt lose position in fact Ive seen 10% more visits than usual so if I were to bet right now it would be;

Sites that are losing the links = losing rankings, conclusiong? build more high quality links lol
 
I have noticed im top #12 for very hard keywords even if i didnt do enough backlinks. seems a lot of spam got removed from google :)
 
I have also noticed this on several sites, some have improved while others seem to have dropped slightly. Seems to be settling for now. There was around 4 updates last month, are they letting the hamsters out of the cage or something?
 
Noticed it too. I used a big disavow file on a website and it went from #38 to #9!
