A customer has made my life hell I've lost everything!

Are there no other payment alternatives available? It sucks your PayPal account has been crippled but I would find another payment gateway ASAP so you continue to make sales while you deal with PayPal.

I just realized you are selling through eBay. I don't have experience with eBay but do they only use PayPal? Perhaps it's time to create your own website that sells this software and use a processor other than PayPal. You need a Plan B.

I got my one account back from paypal by talking directly to them on phone. You need to explain them everything and provide them documents they asked you if you are 100% legit.

Call Ebay and Paypal 24/7. Contact the guy who did the complaint and make him call Paypal and Ebay himself. Offer him a full refund + the software or anything else.

I had my Ebay and Paypal perm limited years ago. I didn't manage to unlimit it, but I remember Ebay telling me that if I got a hold of the company that complained, and make them contact Ebay that they have changed their mind, Ebay might remove the limitations (and subsequently, Paypal too).

First of all stop listening here cause only noobs are posting who have clearly no business understanding.
Second stop calling to paypal. It wont change anything since you will only reach customer support and the risk management which give a fuck about it if its true or not.The system made an alert so thats the ultimate evidence for them to hold your funds. They are the most stupid and retarded people who will tell you every lie just so you fuck off.
First of all you need understand what paypal is and where it has its REAL location.
Paypal is registered in Luxemburg as a financial institution. This means they are acting under the luxemburg financial institution law which also means they can't hold your funds for 180 days without your consens if they don't have a single proof that you violated their tos.
They will tell you on the phone they have to do so because of the bank law's etc and this kind of bullshit just to fuck you off.The truth is paypal never was ,isnt and never will be a bank. They are not acting under the banking law.
So what you need to do are 2 steps.
First call the guy who made the comlaint.Inform him that your paypal account was limited because of his false complaint and that you can't run your business anymore.
Make him aware that he made a complaint with false accuse and that you are now going to court against him for a recompensation of 6000 pounds per month (cause thats the income you are lossing) because he made a false complaint which leaded to a limitation on your paypal account.Give him 5 working days to fix his mistake before your lawyer is going to send him an offical letter for which he will have to pay too if he wont fix his mistake.
After that find a lawyer (just for his stamp)who will send a letter to paypal luxemburg asking to send proof that you violated their tos or to unlimit your account immedently.Give them 14 days thats the normal reaction time under commercial law.
Add in the letter should they not send you proof that you violated their tos or unlimit your account during 14 days after receiving your letter that you will go to commercial court demanding your funds in your paypal account ,recompensation of 6000 pounds for each month where your paypal account is limited for the loss you are taking which you can document and the lawyer and court fee.
Most important add : "Not responding to that letter till 14 days by sending proof that you violated their tos or unlimiting your account, automaticly means that they accept your offer about recompensation and the other fees"

This sentence will make that your letter will be under commercial law an offer/new terms (since paypal broke the old one) should paypal not react during 14 days after receiving your letter.
Should paypal not react during 14 days (poststamp is date of answering)
any commercial court on the world will see your letter as a new binding contract between you and paypal since paypal agreed on your terms by not acting/responding.
Its called implied acting.
Also its important that a lawyer is going to send the letter because
1.It gives it more impact
2.Paypal wont be able to deny that they received such a letter with this content
because your lawyer will confirm that he send the letter with the exect content which means you have the ultimate proof ;)

If you were really selling legit software you will see how quickly they will respond with somebody who is a decision maker and not some monkeys since they dont want to accept your offer/new terms as this would cost them a lot more

Source: I had over $100k held on a 180 day rolling reserve and a minimum reserve of $40k. I had more than one lawyer go after them.

This is wholly incorrect. You're not bound by Luxembourg law, but rather the state that you reside in. In most states, PayPal is registered as a money transmitter which, by law, they're only able to hold funds for an average of 3 days.

I went to hell and back before I got the lawyers, to no avail. The lawyers had to threaten their corporate counsel with a number of different offenses both on a corporate level and the counsel themselves. Even with this, the entire ordeal took about 3 months from the time my money was taken.

You're going to need a good, and experienced, lawyer if you have much a hope at all. Best of luck to you.

Incorrect .OP is from UK and Paypal in whole EU is bound to Luxemburg.I recommend reading the terms.
Paypal for people outside of the EU have of course other main locations but their structur in the EU is always the same.
I guess you didnt hired a commercial law lawyer immedently (UCC) .They basicly wont take this kind of low amount cases but that doesnt change the fact that the law exists and most important
works for both sides if you are aware what you are doing.
A nice example is a company in switzerland who won in 15 minutes a case against the german tax department and got an execution letter (commercial court in zurich) .The only issue here is that not a single bailiff in germany wanted to make a seizure against the german tax department as they were afraid but this wont be a problem with paypal in luxemburg since they have no authority at all

Ah, if he's from UK then ignore everything I said :)

I just want to call the buyer and explain through what he's done and making accusations and false claims how it's effected me. Maybe he's heartless but maybe he will show some remorse and think about his actions in the future.

From my experience paypal does not act on one person claiming that you are selling fakes.

Paypal do not like seller that sell "branded" softwares. If you are selling software that you develop then no issues. Paypal is updating its user agreement for Asians and Europeans this coming 15th Oct 2016 (if I recall correctly from Paypal email) and it WILL NOT offer seller protection to digital product and services seller.

Next, once you are permanently limited by Paypal, the funds are frozen. And you cannot do anything about it. In USA, there was a class suit against paypal that won and Paypal needs to compensate. However since then Paypal has updated its user agreement to cover this legal loophole.

Apart from that, I would advise against using ebay to sell softwares again unless you are the developer. Even used softwares despite they are legal under European law unless you have a the legal representation from the software Company to sell.

PayPal are so useless its unreal. I still have a warning on my account saying I must submit documents but 31st July or my account will be suspended.

It's still working fine and despite submitting all documents and contacting them via phone / email etc they can't seem to do anything about it.

I have some random company as a trade name, they can't sort that out either. It's like the computers literally control that company.

So good luck.

I empty my paypal account into my bank daily. Why would you leave thousands in your PayPal account just sitting there.

Don't be such a drama queen about it. You said you were selling stuff for 3 months so you shouldn't really have lost everything.

You also said you got the "dreaded PayPal letter" so were you perhaps expecting this to happen eventually.

PayPal offers a financial service that is based on trust hence they keep users on a short leash.

Move on, there's other options.

Rule #1 of PayPal: Don't leave any money in your paypal that you can't go 180 days without.

Thank you for the responses

Just to make it very clear I'm not stupid enough to leave money in Paypal purposefully, my funds could only be released 7 days for UK transactions and 21 days for overseas transactions, oddly the occasional transaction allowed me to withdraw immediately.

I have just found out it wasn't the customer who contacted Paypal about me, it was a RED flag that was raised due to a sudden excessive amount of orders that came into me within the hour.

I have 4 E-bay accounts which one by one I was permanently suspended even though each account had 100% feedback score.

If you haven't EVER experienced a financial company holding onto all of your money for half a year then you cannot call me a drama queen. Thousands across the world have committed suicide due to this, became homeless, lost businesses, many go bankrupt... So calling me a drama queen is slightly out of order.

When I could withdraw a message came to me via the Paypal APP, I withdrew seconds after receiving this message.

Most people are aware of Paypal's reputation just Google it, so yes a high majority of customers of Paypal are very weary.

Interesting thanks.

Every country should be taking Paypal to court and governments should be regulating them properly in order for them to offer services, I'm surprised Paypal have been able to get away with treating people the way they have for so long. Hopefully the Financial Services Ombudsman can put pressure on Paypal to release my funds quicker, I know a few people and the success rate is 100%, Paypal hate anyone going to the relevant authorities, threatening them they don't give a monkeys but once you ACTUALLY DO IT they back down .
