Okay, so instead of checking it out you are just going to ask about a program that several people have pointed you to. Hell, I googled it FOR you.
I can't download it for you. Just try it, if it doesnt meet to your standards try the others that people have suggested. Personally, I haven't used TOR.

I agree with you about HidemyIP... I bought it about 2 years ago and it was sorta OK. Then I got an 'upgrade' notice of a faster version, private proxies for $29 per quarter, blah blah blah.
Got it, installed it, and get to spend hours watching the 'search for IP' message. Basically doesn't work in Firefox 3, just barely works in IE.
Waste of money, waste of time to crack.
Ok, we're moving on here...nothing to see.
Tons of it available on warez sites.. dont know why you are not getting it.

I looked into TOR, and it was just too slow for my over-caffeinated psyche.
I looked at Ultrasurf, and didn't want to take bandwidth away from Chinese dissidents.
I took a fling with Cloakfish, and DAMN...it works. I mean it really works. I've just cancelled my Hype-My-IP 'premium' account and will stick with Cloakfish for the time being.
It does take a little tweaking in FF - and probably your FIREWALL/ROUTER! - to get it working but once that's done it's pretty good.

but seriously, imo using hidemyip is like using a port-a-potty.....you might need to use one on occasion if you're out and about, but you wouldn't wanna do your work in one.
