so ive hit a wall..all the forums in my niche doesnt allow links or promotions ?shall i just break the rules, wait for my ban and do it over again?

Exactly.
I did this by finding some big sites like "toptenreviews.com" and then put it into SEMRush to see the biggest keywords they're ranking for, with "best" or "reviews" in the keyword.
Then use scrapebox to scrape top 100 Google results for each keyword, trim the domains down to the root, filter out duplicates and then analyze the list by eye.
Amazon sites have pretty obvious domain names:
Ends with "judge" "hub" "reviews" "center" "news" "direct" etc
Starts with "best"
Has a funky keyword-related brand name
Is something like "top10" or bla bla bla.
Then analyze the website, see what they're doing differently from your site etc

can't you just mention it without linking? sometimes if you make your comment interesting enough, people will take effort to google the webiste name/brand that you recommend.
For example, leangains on bodybuilding forum or mention buzzfeed or name of yt channel or like meathead mentioning FEinternational. That way it won't look spammy. just a normal forumer that want to recommend good stuff.
Assumming your website is good, people will like it and recommend it again to others, creating a goodness snowball effect.

I've also started it. Made website with 1 pillar article on homepage and other pages of individual product reviews.
Google already started ranking few of them and it's already improving in ranking. I am just waiting for the actual visitor to come and buy it.
As soon as i get 3-4 sales, I have planned to make few more sites with different products.

I usually try to get at least 10 posts in before promoting anything
If you want to find other Amazon Affiliate websites, just take a snippet of the standard privat policy, put in brackets and search in Google. For example:
"is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program"
Many people just paste in the standard policy text to their website, så you can easily find affiliate websites this way.
Okay, so I´ll give this a serious go!
Dabbled with a one page product review site a few years back, earned me just about 100$ over a 7 month period. After linkbuilding etc. I probably lost a few bucks on the adventure, so never really got it going again.
So far:
Phase 1.
I´ve found a niche I would like to work with, easily expandable as the theme can trickle out through a lot of different areas.
Phase 2.
Basically followed Meatheads suggestion with SiteGround hosting and domain, furthermore bought a Wordpress theme through Meatheads buddy´s website - Why not show a little support now that they have used their time writing up these tutorials? Doesn´t cost you extra!
Phase 3.
Done some basic keyword research, the first product/theme has keywords with search volume in Google Adwords ranging from 8.000 - 110.000, majority are low competition. Price range of products in Amazon is a bit low priced, 25-100$, with 20 - 12.000 reviews on first page products.
Price ranges on other products in the niche are typically 35-300$.
Haven´t created any content yet, to start out I plan on trying my luck with a pillar article myself and then outsource around 10 articles.
Phase 4.
Website is installed and suggested plugins installed. Need to tweak layout a little.
Next steps:
- Get Payoneer set up, as I´m in Europe and would rather receive deposits than checks via snail mail
- Apply for US Amazon program, already have UK but will follow Meatheads suggestion and focus on US.
- Research the niche, what are people talking about - outsource content based on audience research from forums/Amazon reviews etc. and keyword research. Based on this, I´ll have keywords and general themes for the articles, then I´ll use the attached file to come up with titles. This should suffice as explanation to writers when outsourcing.
- Get the following done:
About me (this should have your blogger's bio and picture)
Contact me (contact form to your gmail account)
Disclaimer page stating you are an Amazon affiliate - use this one http://www.privacypolicyonline.com/

Update: my friend from the original case study has been quite lazy so not been doing as much lately. He's still getting traffic from earlier forum/Q&A posts. He sold a $5000 product yesterday on Amazon which was over $300 in commission (one of the highest priced products in his niche).

Would love to see someone pick one of the highest priced products on Amazon (i.e. a $150K tank or something) and create a journey to just sell one (i.e. within a year - $10,000 commission)
