Hello guys,

I made a website in word press and made the url permalink like this...

domain.Com/post name

And want to change the url to like this

domain.Com/category/post name

So did changing the url effects the ranking of my site???

Yes definately it affects the rankings. As google knows your old url with backlinks not the new one.

Can I do it with new urls??!?

It will affect the number of keywords in planting and affect the flow of natural traffic from google.

To be able to rank your site, you must have a lot of organic traffic your unique and valuable content for others.

So gradually your site will go up in a google search.

As my site yesterday ranks of 17 million, now at 8 million, but could only stop there, I do not know why

You can change the url structure and 301 the old url to the new one.

Yes changing the URL will affect your rankings and it affects your seo.

Before change the old URL to new URL you can do these steps,
1.Use proper 301 redirects.
2. Redirect URL to URL for every page you want to keep.
3. Update all ON-Page links
4. Add a new XML sitemap.
5. Leave the old sitemap temporarily.

Its really a bad idea,do change of URL only when its necessary otherwise it will affect your ranking for sure.
When it is needed then do proper redirect methods and focus on getting back your ranking.

Yes changing url will effect your ranking. Use 301 redirect before changing your url and get back your ranking.

Of course.. it affects your ranking. Do a proper redirects and updating ON page links will be a good way to get back your ranking. Good luck!

Yes it absolutely will and the new links would be needed to be crawled and indexed again so essentially you are starting from scratch again

Yes, there are chances for link broken, If your blog has good visitors then it will lead to cut down the traffic and start throwing errors. Here I found a useful tip to change the Permalink without losing traffic

Yes, changing url will affect your ranking. And there may be chance of link broken. Broken links may affect your traffic. Use proper 301 redirect before changing url and get back your ranking.

Your site URLs that crawl by google by using the robot.txt file. That is Google crawls only the do follow link in that txt file. If you want to change the URL then the old one must be replaced with the new one. ie., update the robot.txt file. If not, I think your site will affect in ranking.

Back when I was restructuring the URL structure of my business site, I changed the URL for my posts from site.com/post-name to site.com/blog/post-name. Here's what I did to make sure the transition went as smoothly as possible:
  1. I went into Google Analytics and took note of my most popular articles.
  2. I changed the post URL structure in Wordpress to the aforementioned blog/post-name.
  3. I 301 redirected the old URLs for the most popular article to the new ones first and the rest second.
  4. I manually double-checked that the links were working.
My rankings for almost all of my posts were exactly the same after that, although there was a bit of a mishap where I messed up on a couple of URLs, and my rankings on those articles dropped briefly until I 301 redirected them properly. However, 1 article never entirely recovered its rankings (previously position 2, but it's been at position 9 since the incident)

Just make sure you 301 redirect the URLs and you should be fine.
