I love the new features what I don't like is mostly aesthetics & semantics...

1) Jr VIP banners are crossing avatars which looks messy.
2) There's a ridiculous amount of black space under posts = too much scrolling.
3) You now have to click to see thanks... in which case they might as well be gone.

Then the wording is all wrong. "Message" is the traditional, direct, more private form of communication. Like "hey, I got a message in my mailbox". Then the internet came and "I got a message in my email." Same with skype or instant messenger. Messages have always implied some degree of privacy and exclusivity.

If you look up the definitions...

Message - a verbal, written, or recorded communication sent to or left for a recipient who cannot be contacted directly.

Post - an online posting

Post (verb) - display (a notice) in a public place.

So again, post = public & less exclusive, message = private and exclusive. You don't "message" a thread you POST a thread. This is DDs forum he can call posts "memorandums" if he wants. But I will never call a post a message. Ever.

And also my avatar. I'm hoping there's a setting to remove it from the top left sidebar as I've always been a subtle man but this forum will be in tears if I leave.

ps. I am thankful for the new features but if there are any rouge mods reading this, please hack into the mainframe, align the banners, reduce padding and change messages back to posts. TY.

edit: Nevermind the black space. Seems there's just A LOT of people not deleting the empty lines at the end of their posts. Must be a glitch. Only banners and messages need to be changed now.

It took me seconds to find the thanks button and apparently it's on the right side with transparent color thumb icon. :|

I miss the old one :(

I second that. Old one was far better and easier.

It does not look bad. Not only will we get used to it, but I'm sure certain features will be updated as time goes by (for example, nicer VIP badges).

The strangest part for me is not seeing "Thanks" below posts anymore. It made it really easy to quickly identify worthwhile posts when scanning a thread.

Either way, cheers to the future: embrace change, or become extinct like the dinosaur.

You're all make conclusions on the UI, and it's honestly about 90% similar. The style is the easy part to fix anyhow. Problems that are not easy to fix is outdated and unmaintained software like the old version.

@dheer if you find it harder, then make a suggestion about what was easier in the old version.

So long as theres the occasional hot biatch banner here and there to lighten my mood from reading some of the retard crap, then I'm fine with the new design!!! ;)

Bring back the stars!!!!!!11111oneoneone

My eyes hurt so much :( In all reality before I could sit on BHW all day, now I don't know .... its a bit of a migraine :(

me too.dont know why...but its may be ok after some days.what you people think?

I actually like the new one, it's way faster and also it's mobile responsive now so I can use it properly on my phone. I couldn't use the old one in my phone but this is just awesome and I also like how you can tag people now.

Lots of "the old version is much better". Other than people's usual dislike of change can you specify why you think the old version is better. "Ie the old version is better because I miss the ability to view the stars. " fine we can deal with that. However "i like the old version more" doesn't tell us what aspects of the Old version you liked over this, so it's difficult to work with that. There are a running list of changes that are being worked on here http://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/work-in-progress.844387/ and this link has been available the top of all your screens (nice feature). The UX was a work in progress for months with atleast 15 feedback rounds into the community, this level of attention is unprecedented in a free community like ours. Trust me I've worked for some massive companies with multi million dollar budgets - they could learn a thing or 2 from this migration. Massive respect to the team that worked on this it can't have been easy migrating all aspects of a forum like this with the knowledge we all have here, but you've pulled it off. Speaking of that knowledge, come on black hatters we're better than "I don't like it".

For me speed, dynamic pages and @ mentions are huge wins. What we call pm's - meh - who cares, BHW changed BST's to the marketplace years ago, whenever old school BHW'ers contact me they still call them BST's. People fear change but when it's for the better, as it clearly is here (mainly because we're bitching about what colour our names are and not about total and appopletic loss of data), then I'm all for it. Are there some changes still to be made? You bet your ass there are. Will I miss being the colour of an admin? Again you bet ya. But in short this is a massive leap forward from the old version for some of the reasons I've listed above and many more, some were released in the beta testing but didn't make it through to live, yet.

Again congrats guys and nice work.

I am really missed the old BHW.
Oh god, post count increase from lounge

I like parts of the new website. For instance, when logging in, I thought it was a big upgrade from the standard forum login. My biggest complaint is that there does not seem to be seperations to the sub forums anymore. For instance, the making money subforum merged all the different parts together. It looks extremely messy and there is too much information to sort through to find the topics I am interested in.

Like for the detail. Not the separation point. Separation into sub forums is still there. Check the little drop down arrow under the main forums on the forum listing page, I'm definitely not used to that yet.

Yep, this new look is a little bit "too polished" in my taste, but I'm going to get used to it. Like everything in life.

I love the new features, specially the mentions and notifications. Xenforo is awesome.
The theme is a bit complicated but I'll get used to it.

Give the new look time. And we will adapt to it. I like the ALERT Feature! And the font and what more? We shall see.
In with the new, out with the old.
