Just started with amazon a month ago and stumbled upon this thread yesterday. I have already tasted some success with amazon a couple of years ago. Nothing big. Around $400 in all. But then got too lazy. Good thing is, it still works. Have started again. Hope to make it better this time round.

How is this possible i mean there was someone who got paid for Cat food and i think he said it wasnt even his niche?

Traffic is coming in, but I have a question. How can I get get true traffic analysis from Google if I have junk sites like this showing up in my Analytics? Any advice... otherwise it seems Analytics is useless.

The traffic comes to your site, clicks your link and goes to Amazon and then decides to buy it later or not buy it at all. But he's casually browsing around on Amazon and he sees the cat food that his cat loves so much. He buys it. Congratulations. You have just made your first sale. Happens all the time with Amazon. Think if he decides to buy a television or multiple items. You get paid commissions for all that.

Hi I have a quick question about creating personas. Could amazon block us or deny affiliation if for example the person getting paid is me, a male with x name, but the persona who "owns" the website is a female with Y name?

Another questions is: If I have family members who always buy stuff on amazon, would it be wrong to just tell them to go through my links first? Is there any way of losing affiliation that way too? Thank you

fantastic post. I am working my way through it. But I have always been interested in Photography and would find it easier to write about that subject but of course the big ticket items are all electronic ( ie cameras etc.) Would this method still work with cameras and other electronic items?

It would, but the commission rate for electronic items are stuck at 4%.

Okay I have been doing this 5a method for two weeks, sometimes I get 50-100 visitors a day, but once I stop posting nothing comes to the site. Just thought I'd help anyone trying to scale using link localization. Their are services both paid and free (i suggest paid) that will automatically convert US amazon associate links into any Amazon (US, UK, CA) etc.. associate links.

This will boost your income. Especially if mixed with translation..

Hi ran into a slight problem. I am registered on the USA version of amazon as an associate or affiliate, i tried to log into the UK site because its where i live thinking i can access my associates account as normal. Well to cut a long story short, i cant log into the UK site as an associate because i am only registered in the us to be an Amazon associate. So when i eventually register on the UK site do i have to put both USA and UK links to products on the site ? I am guessing i would have to so i do not cut out certain audiences who do not want to order products from another country ?

Ebay has less traffic and will only pay a commission if the person buys the product they clicked on. This method, all you really need to do is get someone to click a link to amazon and they will have a 24 hour cookie on their browser and you will get a commission on anything they buy.
