With Google sneaking around at each step of the way. I want to hide domain registrant information.
I dont want to use anonymous service as I recall a registrar saying that Google can see the true info for a few milliseconds, enough for them to record it.

Should I register under a fake name and address? IS it even possible? IF yes which registrar would allow this off thebat?

Any other solutions?

Google is like communist china, actually they seem to kiss china's ass pretty much everyday these days :) What wouldn't they do for money?
Anyway, I need the info above, so I can protect MY money.

I figure Google has only one opportunity of a split second to record your domain information, and I doubt that they do bother to record that split second for every domain registration in the world.

And if you use any Google product in relation to your site (Adsense, Adwords, Analytics, etc etc), or even on another site with footprints in common, they know who you are anyway, with or without private registration.

Having said that, I prefer privacy protection to reduce spam, but most registrars charge extra. I notice that Loving Domains give free privacy protection - does anyone know of any other domain registrars with free privacy protection?

name.com has that and is also free, they have been good. And yes it does reduce spam a heap

just to add my 2 cents, it's useless to hide from google as they are now a registrar, so they can know who is behind a domain..
btw, it is always good to hide information
