What am I doing wrong? Original content, 100+ posts, only 1000 followers

I post new content daily, i use hashtags, this isn't a marketing account but a real account about a topic I actually like and enjoy.

I only got 1000 followers after friending people daily manually. what am I doing wrong? I was really hoping to have this thing up and running really well and having a good following.

you are most likely targeting the wrong users when following/liking and probably even using non related hashtags.

well, depending on the niche 1000 followers could even be quite a good value. the smaller your niche the less your number of followers the more target your followers are.

If it's an "evergreen"/general niche, then you're probably doing something wrong.

Also, what kind of content are you pushing out? Opinionated? Long form guide/tips type of content?

What kind of value are you providing? Are you sharing it on social media? What medium are you utilizing for content marketing?

Some are reposts of my friends original content with their permission. using only instagram. When you say medium for marketing, I am just making instagram posts with hashtags and following users. Not opinionated, some just videos of some things, others informative pictures with maybe a blurb.

If you wanna do this manually, the best way to grow your account will be to exchange shoutouts with accounts in your niche. There was a journey on the forum about this. The guy was growing Instagram accounts manually doing only shoutout for shoutout.

look, there can be many reasons for you not growing quick enough or somehow really slow, but if you don't provide any more info, we can't really help you.

Quick thought.

Original content can still be bad content. Although I usually recommend original, it needs to be of high quality. Let's say you are in the fitness niche. You can post original pictures everyday of someone who isn't fit, but actual fitness people aren't interested in following someone who isn't fit. Does that make sense?

Yep, shoutouts work, but they somehow come at a price. Instagram is being spammed with shoutouts, more and more people are getting annoyed seeing them (including me).

If you wanna do shoutouts, don't do it too early.

You're probably using the same set of hashtags every post. Where as you should be using different tags every post that are appropriate to your engagement. Contact me via Skype to get the idea.

Is there a way to setup TIMED instagram posts? Is there a good Webbased way of posting to Instagram from my Mac or PC?

I used NO BOTS, nothing. I just keep posting quality posts.
