PPI - The end is near?

Good thing I stopped doing PPI a year ago.

I should preface this by saying I know bugger all about PPI and have not read the link, for all I know it could be about getting refunds on insurance the bank made you take out years ago, however...

In my ~5 years here, I have seen posts like these hundreds of times about hundreds of methods. Most recently, the forum lit up with "FB group posting is dead" threads, with dozens of people screaming "I suggest you all try a different method and move on.."

One thing I have learned is, people find a way.

A method is rarely "dead", they constantly need readjusting and updating though.

I suggest those of you who are in the group of people who do this, who believe a method is dead as soon as one thing changes, need a change of mindset.

SEO, FB, PPI, PPD, YouTube - everything is dead on this forum sooner or later, it's a pattern with people and it will never change. So just adapt and move on.

Also, regarding PPI, if you really want to pursue it, consider the double zipping method (and variants of it). You need to be more worried about AV-s than Google when it comes to installing nasty stuff on people computers.

This terribly sucks, but don't PPI generally pay more than CPA?

Very sorry to hear that, but I as a user am tired from seeing these green download buttons which lead only to advare download and you have to scroll the page again and again to look for a small real download link (if it is there ofc).

PPI will live more than year more, I'm sure. But i'm also sure that resellers will die.

If you can get paid for getting people to take an action then there is always a way to make a profit. Sometimes you've just got to find your own way rather than the old way. If you wait for someone else to tell you what to do or how to do it you may already be too late. Security teams are always playing catch up. What are they next going to have to catch?

best answer :), if something is almost dead, people will find a new way to bypass anything / everything.

To be honest PPI started to bleed out for a while. My earnings went really down. But I still get better results than on CPA.

As long as people download stuffs PPI will make through no matter how hard it is. The question is, are you willing to put time on making a revolutionary method. Yeah I know, revolutionary is a big word.

Those who know how PPI works know that PPI will never die, there will always be demand for PPV / PPC traffic. The only problem PPI is facing these days are companies which are commiting fraud against their publishers (shaving). Amonetize for example bundles 10+ offers for US. You don't want to know how much they charge advertisers for 1 offer. Even with the shitty rates they give publishers they have to shave installs.

PPI is not dead, however..... PPI is dead as you know it. until Aug-Sep 2015 the rates in ppi were very high and publishers made a lot of money because there was no real regulation on the ppi methods and each network could do whatever it wanted. Once google understood that ppi networks are cutting into their own profits they started a crackdown on the industry and started blocking each site that used ppi that is not compliant to google's regulation. today fake download buttons are no longer an option and the user have to opt in twice to every offer so ppi is not dead but is getting more legit so the rates are dropeing and it is not very profitable any more...

PPI network already have a big traffic from publishers, they shouldn't loose it. One of their move is combine PPI and CPA.

Social Media traffic is where you can really bank with PPI. That will never die, only those that adapt will survive.

This is a great development. Fake download bars always annoyed the shit out of me.

from a user's point of view i agree, from a publisher's point a view it's a problem.

Well the recent Microsoft's policy changes for adwares kill major PPV networks (That work on network level) and if that is killed, then there is no point in getting installs which means no PPI (For adnetworks that run adwares on network level, otherwise might still work). So it's like PPI + PPV both getting screwed at once from all sides.
