Future of BitCoin

As mentioned previously, this technology is still in its infancy, but if all other similar areas of "internetization" are an indicator, BTC or a similar service could get huge in the foreseeable future.

Whether Bitcoin succeeds or not, this type of currency is going to be the new money so definitely considering investing in BC in the future.

I don't think it going to be last for very long time but at this time, it 's still very popular and the fact is a lot of black stuff transaction through btc.

With time, people will continue to adopt the use of coins and so it can only be expected that they will continue rising in value.
About investing in them, the world is not yet in know and early adopters are likely to benefit.
Bottom line: It's still a good time to jump the train.

bitcoins are great if you like buying drugs or other ilegal shit.
Pointless for a consumer otherwise, way to confusing to use and no security on purchases (such as with visa)
Not to mention bitcoin seems to be scam after scam. The worlds biggest exchanges shutting down and running of with peoples money. Decentralized currency systems will never work.

I think Bitcoin probably peaked in 2014 and has only downhill to go. Governments, especially US have no interest in a digital currency

bitcoin prices will rise again should invest in some while they are low.

btc is not going anywhere its going to be around for tens of years and will prolly stay at its current price for a while.

Thought I'd make a post in this new section to ask a question I've been pondering recently. I'm not an expert in cryptocurrency but I'm interested in what you all have to say. Bitcoin and other altcoins are a really cool new thing allowing people to purchase things online mostly and even a bit in person. But how large can it actually grow when the prices are so unstable. It really restricts people from using the currency because of it in my opinion. Thoughts?

Believe me: if you think this is bad you should have seen Bitcoin in the early days, when the price was only a few dollars. I remember buying in: a few k worth at the time and gasping as the price shot up. Nobody had any clue how high it would go. $5 ... $6 ... $10 ... $23 ... It seemed to be gaining a critical mass and I could do little to keep my eyes off the price. Those were extremely exciting times to be alive and I'm sure that I pissed off hundreds of people with my constant price updates - but when you're watching history take place in real time it really doesn't matter what other people think. The price would eventually reach over $1000 USD a coin before crashing and burning in the low hundreds. Had I sold then: I would be a millionaire, unfortunately, I sold on a massive price swing near the huge 20 - 27 USD rally (although I still made money. Back then: you couldn't NOT make money with Bitcoin.)

My advice: Bitcoin is not a good commodity to invest in at this point in time due to the low liquidity but investing in Bitcoin companies is a different story. If you really want to make bank, find some stocks doing something big with Bitcoin and then ride the wave of VC/Bitcoin hedging to the bank.

It's way too complicated for the average user to bother with, a complete pain to buy, and it's only real value seems to be in buying illegal stuff. The price shot up so much in the early days because it was a novelty and no one really knew a lot about it... not to mention silk road was still a thing. You can't even mine it anymore and turn a profit. Bitcoin's future will be a slow painful decline followed by death.

BTC is useless at the time. You can't even buy anything on the Deepweb while on the Openweb there aren't many places to use them. Moreover, the value of your money can drastically depreciate if it is in BTC.

I am using BTC to pay for domains and hosting with respectable providers.
I see year by year more and more vendors jump on this.
I think the driving factors are (tiny processing fee, fast transactions and banks are "out of the loop"). :)

As of right now, Fall 2015, we've all seen the price differences BTC has gone through this year. But I still think that it's very attractive for people to pay with - simply because of the anonymity. They just have to make it easier for absolute newbies to access bitcoins. Most of them are already scared simply because of the name cryptocurrency and automatically think it would be so complicated to set up.
