Are YouTube videos still appearing in the main SERPs or do you need to go to the video tab in Google in order to see the ranked videos for the search term? I don't think I've seen a video in the main Google page for a while but maybe it's my settings?

Videos still appear in the main serps, it depends a lot on the niche you are searching in.
