I dont think its just me but who knows, I have accounts growing on IG, twitter and pinterest, and both of my pinterest ones are definitely in last place. It seems really slow, and theres so many accounts with hardly any pins at all with random ass names that just post ad pins all day... pinterest seems super saturated with bots its crazy. I'm going to continue to build my pinterest account but I dont think I will be starting any new ones.

You will be banned as soon as anyone with same niche sees you as a threat.. I was inactive for 4 months, then suddenly i got banned

Can you elaborate on that a little more.

Pinterest mass bans bot accounts, but new ones pop up all the time. If you look on the upper right dropdown under "News" tab, you'll see numerous accounts that follow 800+ per day. I don't see how a natural person could do that, so I can only assume that bot detection is still lacking. And many IM'ers are pushing the envelope and getting away with it.

When it comes to traffic, however, I believe that the action is in groupboards. The ideal is to build up your own while asking to join established active boards. But this is a manual activity so it will take time.

I run about 10 accounts regularly and when I follow I do about 5,000 a day. I've been at it almost a year without any repercussion. I seriously doubt that Pinterest is mass banning bots unless they are spamming the shit out of the site. Why would they set their follow limits to what they do if they had a serious problem with people following? Why allow 300 an hour and not 300 a day? Is a regular person going to follow 300 an hour all day?

Just following users is not innately a bad thing to do.

Seriously, 5000 a day? Without bans? Nice. :)

That's interesting. I do 300 follows / hour with 6 accounts. I do it every day, except Saturday when I unfollow people.

Do you post on group boards with those accounts? (I am afraid of getting my accounts banned if I post to group boards). The follow back ratio is a bit low for me, even if I follow real people with likes and pins on their accounts.

I got 3 accounts banned because of group board pinning, my question is a little bit offtopic: It is OK to create new accounts with the old proxies I used for the banned accounts?

You get banned from group boards for 2 reasons.

1.Some reports your pins at spam
2.You overreach your pin limits to group boards.
(Which means you're delays between pins are too short or you hit the overrall pin limit which varies from account to account.)
I speak from experience, I got enough accounts recovered sometimes even after the 4-5 pinterest ticket.
If you split test enough, you will find ways to know how much you're limit is and how to raise that limit.
Pinterest gives a fuck about follows.

But pinterest heavily analyse how much and what you pin.
But it's like in life, if you have a normal lookin pinterest Account you can always talk you way out of things.
It is crazy, how obvious at my start I spamed pins and then just made enough fluff talk till they apologized and reactiveted my Accounts...

Pinterest is getting way more saturated, I have basically given up on it.I guess it depends on the niche you are in. Fashion niche is just crazy saturated. Don't try it.

Ps I used to make around 15 bucks a day on pinterest with adsense, now I am lucky if I can make 4 or 5.

It's quite saturated but there's still money to be made. Wouldn't you say all KWs are saturated and yet you outrank a lot of sites to be on the first page? It's just like that, be the best player and you'll earn money. If you're somewhat average, then I don't think you can earn money anywhere, let alone IM. :)

sounds about right to me. fashion has sucked for me form day 1. All windowshoppers no clickers

I do post on group boards with my accounts, though I've begun to just create my own. What has worked exceptionally well for me is to create a group board in a particular topic with 1 account, add about 200 people (look for people who have a lot of followers already at least 1,000+) as contributors and over time add my own bot accounts. This way when you follow with all your accounts, you'll get much more exposure to your boards. I've got several 16-20k follower group boards in my niche this way.

I'll also add that I'm extremely strict with my boards and what I'll allow. Anything remotely off topic will result in you and all your pins being removed, also if you're clearly only posting in my board to advertise your own website you'll likely be removed as well.. It's dick, yes, but you're not on my board to contribute in a legitimate way and you're not going to buy anything from my website if you're just there to post your own competing website.

I don't think using the same IP address would be an issue, I was told by Pinterest support multiple accounts from 1 IP was not an issue because I had concerns about creating business accounts for multiple websites from my actual IP address (5+ accounts). I think if Pinterest was really concerned they could easily sniff out all the fake IP address ranges that are being used to bot and ban them. Several of my squidproxies are within a range known to Peerblocker to be used for black hat purposes.

im having issues where new accounts are getting banned. the moment they hit my pinblaster bot
this never use to happen.
is anyone else having issues with new accounts? or did i just buy some bad ones?

i have only 10 stable pinterest accounts
but i know someone who has more than 1000 active accounts. its crazy.
hope to be at that level soon

That's interesting approach. Quick question, if you will:
How can you add people to your board? I thought they have to follow you before you can invite them. So, this is going to work if you already have 200+ good followers to invite, right?

Pinterest is the worst .. .
I mean i like the idea of the site, but it's not practical .. .

Once you've got some followers who follow you and not just 1 or 2 boards, when you create a new board they'll be following it as well. Any board I create on my main account starts at about 11k or 12k followers maybe more, I just don't want to be ridiculous and create a ton of boards in 1 niche

Work on building Accounts.
It's easy to get much followers in a short time.
You just have to build really good looking Accounts.
Watch some of the big ones with 200.000 + because they needed a long time to build that followers.
They had a long time to design good looking boards, when you're lazy you can even copy that, no one cares.
But when you have good looking Accounts in the first place, followers will rush in when you're an active pinner.
When people start to mass comment on your boards, that you have good taste or that they love your style/pins.
People want to be on your boards.

Like uffda sayed, if you strictly remove any affiliate or bullshit spammer from your boards.
You can also have settings that just you're allowed to invite people.
More people will want to join because they see the high quality of your boards without the spammy lookin shit.
That way you get more clicks/repins and more people who will want to contribute quality to your boards.
Because they see the high quality of pins in your boards.
And with the growing numbers of your Accounts your boards also get bigger and more attractive for anyone.

Is this a new feature that's not yet rolled out to other profiles? I've never seen a switch that limits members of groupboards from inviting other pinners. Something like this would be helpful in keeping out spam from others (cos I'm the only allowed to spam my boards :P).

I think he's just referring to having it listed in the description of the board "do not invite anyone", I pretty consistently remove anyone who randomly invites people to the board along with everyone they invited. Unfortunately I just have to assume they're inviting their bot accounts.
