I've been thinking about getting myself an iphone these days.

I am sure there's a lot of experienced members here...

Any tips?

iPhones are great. I personally do not own one but that's because it's uninsurable and if I lose it I'm completely out of luck. In the 2 year contract period I might end up losing it and that scares me.

If you get the iPhone absolutely get the applecare warranty on it. These things are complicated machines and they tend to have issues. They seem to freeze from time to time and if you just drop it from 2-3 feet it'll probalby not turn on again so the applecare is essential.

its the best phone ever made. lol it rocks. does everything i need it to and more. buy one from craigslist(in your local area) and go to appleiphoneschool dot com to see reviews of apps.

if you work in construction then dont get it.

I'm using iPhone 3G since september. Done jailbreak, never paid for any of the apps or games
But organizing your music and videos with itunes is quite hard and time consuming. But once you've added all albums, covers, videos - it becomes very easy and convenient to use. I also use it for email and web

Actually I'm in europe and using t-mobile. I can get it without a contract but it's like $800 with t-mobile. I don't wanna sign a contract with tmobile because it lasts for 2 years which means that i'll be screwed if 4g comes up and so... Which leaves me to the $800 version

I would wait for new iPhone and see if it's any better than current version. And if it's not, just buy the old one

Have a look at the G1 Android. It's the Google linked one and, imo, better than the iPhone with more features and more software.

Have you ever used iPhone? The only limitation for me is copy/paste. Copy/paste will be available in June (with the release of 3.0 firmware)

I was thinking of iphone but ended with nokia 5800, as the dam phone had minimum repair cost of 190€ pretty fucked up imo , might buy it at summer if i could get without any contract well see

To those who said they hate iphones, seems like the typical.. 'its a trend' so I'll go against it kind of thing. grow up, and saying that you know people with iphones that are not happy with it? yeh we believe that one.

I got a iphone when it first came out for xmas and its the best thing I've ever owned. Its like having a simple easy to use laptop in your pocket.

I love my Iphone. Take it everywhere... I jailbroke mine, so I've had copy/paste, among lot's of other cool shit... If you have an iphone, jailbreak it, if you don't like it just upgrade to 3.0. A simple restore and it doesn't screw up your warranty.
