Tell me how the hell are you going to get real fucking legit links on sites without paying AT LEAST $500 per link? Sure, you might talk to some of the editors and make some deals, but you WILL need cash, and loads. Talk about company expenditures and salaries... guessing you are talking from a basement point of view. How are you going to generate actual real content without spending a good bunch of money? There is no way you can run an ace campaign with less than $1.5k a month, and things nowadays are 10 times worse.

You left out the "good part". What EXACTLY did you do bad to get hit by these zoo animals? If you explain what YOU did to your site then possibly you could get better answers and solutions...

1- who told you that you were hit with a penalty?
2- what proof do you have of a panda hit?
3- what proof do you have of a penguin hit?

Do you have actual notes from google that you did wrong? Or your site just dropped so you assume its a penalty? Many people spend thousands trying to fix what they were told was a penalty when it was just an algo change. Think about it before blowing money trying to fix something that may not be broke.

It doesn't happen overnight bro. It's a process that takes time (I seen it take 2-6 months, and I have seen it take 1.5 years). You should also be building good links alongside your link detox efforts.

Also, dealing with people who have trust issues in regards to SEO almost always ends in disaster. Nothing worse than dealing with nervous Nancies.

If they truly knew how to rank sites then they would not be working for others... you are hiring 2nd rate at best. Kind of hiring a financial advisor and going into their office and being greeted by some kid without 2 nickels to his name, but all the schooling to get the credentials. If he new how to make money, he would not be working for you or anyone... think about it

You received recommendations in your other thread, what were the responses like from the companies/individuals you contacted?
Are you being sensibly cautious trying to locate the right professional or are there other problems with the site that you haven't shared?
Do you think you might be over estimating the sites potential?

if you are getting those traffic figures from a penalised site then i would guess that similar traffic could be built up on a different domain "cleaner" relatively easily and that "clean" domain will provide a good platform for safe optimisation. If redirect is not an option then consider what i said carefully. Just out of interest, do you know what the exact penalty was? was it "unnatural links" or...? It could be that you have hammered incorrect anchor text ratios or something more of a pain to resolve.

That did not answer the question, algo's change as well at those times, dont assume, prove 100% before spending. Take just one page, lower the kw densities on it by half, then add a couple good link to it. The results may surprise you and most so called zoo experts that want thousands to try...

hmm..then it's not a massive deal kicking the site back up. I would encourage two options (amongst others)

1. check the pages that are still ranking well and then chase them to move higher with quality BL's and better On page

2. Create new pages with newer and quality link profiles for new traffic

In terms of chasing the right provider, the job is simple, just have a look at what ranking success they have achieved to filter out the bullsh*tters. When i say success, i mean success with competitive search terms
