well i thought id jump on the bandwagon and cash in on the swine flu shite...so ive registered my domain (beattheswine.com) ill be building it with unique articles and maybe some news feeds from BBC and Sky news etc... i did see a thread once about getting rss feeds relating to keywords...im pretty sure you can do it with yahoo pipes so ill look into that while the domain is set up or if anyone knows how to set up pipes to do this please share.
Ill keep you all posted on how it goes traffic wise etc not expecting great things but will see...oh and if anyone thinks im a sick fucker for doing this...i dont actually care so dont waste your time telling me!!!

I'm LOVING this outbreak. Everytime the WHO raises the level, cash flow doubles at least. I'm not using blogs or even my own websites but I'm sure you'll experience some success as fear controls peoples judgment!

GO OUTBREAKK!!!!!!

Yeah, i was thinking about doing a autp blog with updates - found a few affiliates doing the whole tami-flu thing - Ill keep you updated when i get it up and running.....just need to choose the domain name.

when you start to type "swine flu" into goolge, it suggests that there will be 126,000 results. Easy competition (unless they're all BHWers and know what they're doing, lol). But when you actually search for it, there are 76,000,000 results.

Good luck guys :D

ha ha thanks for the advice corkie :) and yes i am a sick fucker i will openly admit that!

Hell, we will all be exploiting this thing in one way or the other. I'm not going to create a blog just for this, but I have definitely been promoting it for traffic. The only thing is with this is the big news sites are all over it and its hard to beat them out.

yeah very true mate but as always we can find a method of dominating or at least selecting some decent long tail keywords...ive just started on the blog this afternoon just need a few more articles and away it goes will see what happens like i said not getting excited about it as like others have said its probably already pretty saturated but hey worth a shot as always...just wondering what to do with the domain when this all dies down???

You can just make a video site with videos of people beating pigs up

mate always thinking outside the box ha ha awesome

Get some old Bugs Bunny cartoon footage with poor old Porky Pig getting blown up, etc.

How are you going to monetize this anyway?

just adsense at the minute had a couple of clicks already but im guessing its people from here made $3.50 from 3 clicks

By the time google starts ranking your new site, this thing would be over, I hope.

So my recommendation:
-get a few "flu" domains
-get a few "plague" domains

Start building them up to get ready for the next flu or plague thing. Then at least you part of the keyword in your domain name. Then you do:

http://swine.flu-scare.com (or something) so "swine" and "flu" fall after each other naturally using subdomain. So you are good to go for the next BIG THING.

&& don't forget domain with "pandemic" seems these things are coming in every few years.

for those of you are spamming twitter for swine flu $$ heres an article that should go down well. tweeters love whats controversial, anything that involved infowars.com is grand due to the anti govt stance etc: http://www.capitalcentury.com/1976.html

It's re the swine flu in 1976.

Retailers are already profiting from this, just go to amazon and type in 'swine flu'

People are making Swine Flu kits, which include masks, goggles, gloves, hand sanitizer etc. They're charging between $25 and $75. Throw up an amazon affiliate link and the product, make a few percentage points on that. Probably no more than $1-3/order, but at least it's something.
