Clickbank And Morality...

I have always had the mindset that dumb people buy dumb things and they might as well buy them from me. However, do any of the clickbank products bother you? I like to promote products in the health niche that focus on a specific illness or condition because I can get cheap PPC clicks with low competition. Some of these products promise ridiculous things(anxiety product says it cures 98% of people, a diet book that says it cures cancer, diabetes cures, etc.) I'm starting to feel like a snake oil salesman. I try to only promote legitimate/plausible products but that doesn't always work out. Even now the highest gravity product is a diabetes cure. How do you guys handle these questionable products? Do you promote them or try to stay away? Initially it didn't bother me and I focused on my bottom line but recently I've been thinking about it more and questioning my responsibility.

meh, i could promote most stuff like weight loss, muscle growth, etc. but, i don't think i could live with myself selling stuff that promises to cure cancer or diabetes. there's a lot of other ways to make money

I've had the same thoughts man. On one shoulder I've got the the little devil Fudd saying I should sell air to the asthmatic and on the other shoulder, little angel Fudd knows I can sell something the proper way. I just try to stay away from products that some desperate person might spend their last dollar on. Been in those shoes.

Ha ha, good topic. I am staying away from CB although I probably could earn more if I used them. It doesn't feel right to me despite their 60 day guarantee. And I don't have time to personally read every book there to check its quality.

Most of everything we buy is rubbish. 95% of things we buy are rubbish. Everyone's selling rubbish. Hard to take the high moral ground and be poor. Kudos for the mindset though.

You're right instead of promoting products that usually have good information for health, you should promote internet marketing products that just tell the buyer to sell internet marking products, haha.

Most of the e-book products are just rewriting information that's available for free. Idk if the 60 day guarantee relieves you of responsibility because you know people who aren't happy with the product might not pursue the guarantee and chalk it up as a loss. I'd imagine most people aren't happy with the majority of ebook products on CB.

No, the people who buy CB products (especially the products over $40) are either happy with them or they get a refund. Even if you think they are bad, the information may be useful to the people who buy it.

There was a door-to-door pedlar in my neighbourhood selling a stain removal product for $100. My mother bought it from him because the boy seemed nice and when she showed it to me, I took one look at the product and said, "You got scammed". The shoddy product had no chemicals label, didn't work (I honestly think it was just soap and water), and the "company" that created it was a fake company that received many complaints.

So I understand why you won't sell certain products on Clickbank. I have a low capacity for empathy and even I think that's wrong.

I'm facing the same dilemma, so I know where you're coming from. I mean, there are ebooks on Clickbank that claim to help you grow taller! Like, seriously? WTF? This is exactly why I stay away from the majority CPA products.

It's always better to stick to products that you've personally reviewed and ones that don't make outrageous claims. Hard to find these golden nuggets. And once you do, they can be profitable — but never as profitable as the scammy ones! lol

I received 2 disturbing comments on my blog regarding several CB products:

I'm in a dilemma whether to stop promoting them. And yes, all my landing pages are genuine; I got the vendor's full program and eBooks and outsource it to my writers.

Sometimes I wonder how those vendors sleep at night.

Maybe sleeping in wads of cash. Will Karma strike them? I don't know because I don't believe in Karma. I've done many good deeds (from the heart, not out of obligation or expecting something in return) but my luck has been terrible. I know some assholes who laugh at handicaps or poor people aand bully the weak, yet they are rich with women around them. /rant

On another topic, in my opinion, promoting/selling weight loss products or products that don't put one's life in danger is 'okay' although it is unethical. However, don't do it if it does put one's life in danger. Example: "Cure Cancer". That is really fuck up.

I'm surprised they even allow that type of product on there! This makes me want to create my own Clickbank product that is actually of good quality. I would imagine with some additional tweaking and a copious amount of new content, I could sell one of them on Clickbank for a reasonable price.

Diet products they have are good. Panic Away is top notch IMO.

There are hundreds of products on CB, many with good quality and sufficient gravity. If you don't feel good about one set of products, just focus on promoting others.
