I was recently wondering: On PBN's that sell lifetime posts on them, how long have you guys noticed that 'lifetime' being? Are the owners buying 5+ years of hosting up front and then just leaving the blog alone after the OBL max is filled? Do people keep posting non-backlink updates to these sites to keep them "fresh" to google? What happens to a PBN after it hits max OBL, after 1-2-3 years?

The lifetime of the PBN of course. I bought some real expensive links a while back, only to find out the PBN was all banned within a couple of months.

I understand that getting banned happens, that can happen to anybody. My concern was if it's common for a PBN to have a 1 year hosting set up and after it hits max OBL the hosting never gets renewed and the site simply goes away. Or if it's common for owners to keep the network going and feeding it articles. Maybe it is very different from person to person.

Buying links ON PBN sucks. Try buying links on general sites so your links stay live for long time.

Dont buy a link from public Network.Try to build network with yourself .How much is your budget ,i dont know .but i build my own PBN with 15 domain and it cost me around 300$.If you want to build such network then contact with me .I will help you to build such network . As long as the network stays up, your links will remain on there. Lifetime doesn't mean forever or 'a very long time'. It simply means 'for as long as the network exists'.

OP, your concern is correct. Most PBN sellers will let the domain/hosting die. In those PBNs the posts are spun or very low quality and the word count is around 250-300.

None of the links you get from those PBNs will make you proud.

Don't get me wrong, those cheap PBNs have value. You just need to use them for the right things. Hint: don't try to build real authority sites with them ;-)

I've never used a monthly paid network. But, it is obvious that the monthly paid networks have an incentive to keep them alive and maintain them with better quality.

As a general rule any network that in this way or another is open to the public has a footprint or a spam signal for Google.

Short term, long term etc' can use different linking strategies... first you have to know what you want to gain, then decide what kind of backlinks you should look for.

Lifetime in general means 1 year or as long as the sellers are in business. Considering the average age of BSTs here, very rarely a PBN being offered publically will survive for more than 1 year unless the sellers have limited spots and close the network after reaching certain OBLs.

But what are sellers doing once they reach OBL? Are they paying for years of hosting? Seems unlikely. I think your 1 year guess is probably correct. In which case people are paying for a year's worth of 10-15-25 or however many links for $200 and then seeing ranks drop if they do not replace those lost links with new purchases. Only problem of course is that the monthly ones are quite expensive over a year... so maybe if there is no hard it isn't a bad thing to just keep replacing lost links?

I guess it depends what type of network it is. If its a network where posts roll off to inner pages, then seller will probably renew the domain and continue paying for hosting. But since we are talking about limited OBLs i.e. homepage network, seller will 100 percent drop the domain if the domain loses PR. Most buyers will hardly care to check whether their links are active after a couple of months but in case a buyer complains to seller about lost links, most likely a good seller will replace the links on new domains if he is still in business. Lifetime links are like unlimited hosting, there is a clause behind them.

They rarely ever last more than a year - in fact none of the links I've purchased ever lasted more than a couple of months before getting busted.

But to answer your question, in my experience: the PBN owners feed their network for as long as they aren't banned. Once they get busted, it costs a lot of $ to maintain a network, so they usually just let the domains expire.

Lifetime posts are irrelevant if you think about it, you want the post to be on the homepage (where all the link juice is flowing) as long as possible. Anyone that owns/manages a PBN knows that the posts eventually fall off of the homepage. Most services that offer PBN posts fill up their networks fast, so you'll be lucky to get a couple weeks on the homepage.

If you want quality, you have to pay for it. If you're paying a few bucks for a post, chances are you're not going to be on the homepage for very long, and if that is the case I can't see the seller investing the money to build out the site properly (to not monetize it for the sites lifetime). If you want your post to stick on the homepage, you're going to be paying a subscription so there's incentive for the seller to maintain the network.

When posts roll off the homepage, they remain on the site, sending a severely reduced amount of link juice to your site. In addition to what I posted above, lifetime means one-time fee links.

You just weight the risks, as in any other business. If the price is good, you may or may not take a risk of buying the lifetime link.
