Look at it as a number of separate parts that make up the whole.

Once the main site is up and running each of the other modules can be done separately...we work to stay away from reciprocal linking.

I'm sure the are many variations of this that will work...the important thing is to test it.

I'm a huge fan of using visualization to really grok the bigger picture of linking scenarios. Even as an abstraction, it can be helpful. If you're not familiar with how to use graphing software, whiteboards and notebooks work wonderfully as well.

Anyone got any experience doing this kind of thing with adult sites? I always look at these things and find a lot of the sites won't allow my filth on there lol

I've had a few questions on whether or not we offer this type of service to clients. At this point we do not....

The cost is expensive and to get sustained results requires a 2 or 3 month commitment. Its easy to own the top results for a day or two but it takes a bit of time to keep those top results.

SEnuke has the tools needed to do most of this....just takes time.

jv, I have been thinking about and studying sniper sites, where only ONE page ranks and all other pages are sacrificed to make that one page rank. So in that model (if I understand it right) all the links point to that one page.

Is your model similar whereas your money pages are Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, etc. so that they only have one way link coming to them?

Alternatively, with a sniper setup, can we just focus on 'Main Site' (which could be the main page - the home page), and have everything point to that.

As I understand it a sniper site (or page) is based on one keyword. So in essence you would do as you say...set up that one page and focus everything on that page. The model that I put up actually has 5-6 pages based on unique keywords for each page.

Sniper sites should be a lot easier to rank for because you are only targeting one page...plus, if we do the keyword research as its suggested in the sniper pdf there should not be as much competition.

Our model allows for the site to grow...the sniper is designed to be just a single page and then you move on (ie sniper).

There are benefits to both and we do both. Sniper sites are a good way to test a niche before going hog wild with it.

One last thing on the sniper sites...the diagram in the thread is overkill IMO for that particular technique simply because if the keyword research is done properly in the beginning you will have very little competition. I would think about using 6-8 web 2.0 properties then bookmarking the hell out of all of them.
