Is anybody else having trouble with fb lead chef? I'm using my own app id on the account, but when i try to scrape passionate memebers all i ever get is an error saying try again later. I know i can save emails from groups, but i want UIDs from specific fan pages and its not letting me get them :(
The top tab should be on search by niche. The green dot should be on pages. Where it says to enter a niche or keyword, type in the name of the facebook page. It will show up in the results.

I'm not randomly targetting facebook accounts and send affiliate offers, instead I found owners of local businesses and landed two social media consulting contracts today for $1000/month each.

I'm getting a lot of pm's to scrape. Don't forget to include your email address so I can send you the cvs file with the email addresses on them.

I guess people physically helping scrape from fb could get into huuuge trouble from youknowwhom, IMHO. I remember some years ago, another hugely reputed member, one of my closest friends who helped in a similar way if not better way, was framed by the giant company AC, and he being a US resident was taken to court and obviously the company got what they wanted.... I think this giant company's legal dept too is already thinking is similar ways to save their hon. members. Rest is up to you guys.... GB!

Do you have a link to the news story?

You want them to invite us all to the meeting? The press would make them act... This thread is open to all. They will do then talk about it. The same happened when AC struck. They took proofs by standing as help requesters and collected all evidences first hand. My duty is to tell about approaching dangers. AC is nothing compared to this one..... And one of them can become another member asking for a scraping... No more from me on this now on.

So the illegal here is the scraping or blasting the @faceb0ok emails ?

I guess that you are asking whether FB scraping is illegal, and this is your answer from the horse's mouth: :) Btw, everything is important there, but read point #14 very carefully...

Code:
https://www.facebook.com/apps/site_scraping_tos_terms.php
One of my dearest friends got punished back then for whatever he did to a giant company... now some of my other friends (may be many of those) are going the same way and too openly. Who would know if they do it in secret? (no one, or not too many). But as they do it openly, people who matter are focusing on to this, and so they could be in similar dangers because the target is one of the biggest companies in the world, and so, out of deep concerns, I wrote the above piece. Please don't do it, there could be your dear ones and highly-placed ones (I don't know, there could definitely be the one who is working at a very high place among the family) who could get needlessly and negatively involved, especially if you are a US or its friendly nation's citizen. The investigators will find that angle too... F~B is cracking on everything all the time to save its reputation as one of the top entities in the world, and they make the culprits pay so that others like him/her take notice in future and stay away afap... Do you have a chance against them? Think...

People who do it secretly are not easy prey for f~b, but those doing the same this openly--- be warned. I'm your friend, and hence this concern... the thread is just 2 days old, may be little less than that if you're on the US side. This will surely go viral soon, and then those initially slow moving wheels WILL gather speed, in this direction definitely, imo.

Who is AC?

I'm not sure scraping a site is a federal offence, AFAIK. There's a big difference in breaching a site's TOS, compared to committing a federal offence.

If you're going to highlight criminal behaviour, at least provide the sources (especially past cases in law).

Tried this a while ago but I didn't succed on the "mass" mail part. The Max I could send using my own domain account is 6/100 and it kept decreasing until no mail goes through.

Tried also the combo gmail & thunderbird so that I can insert html... Worked once.

I tried adding an invisible picture so that I can easily track the sent e-mails / tried the "acknowledgment of receipt" option of Thunderbird too so that I can get the genuine mail of the person.. It worked using Thunderbird once.. (again).

Anyway, hope it develops the discussion a bit.

Write before you read? In the post above yours, I have mentioned a link. Go read it and especially the point #14. Rest is up to you and how you understand it. IMO, it means trouble...

In such cases, no one will want to debate on whether it's illegal or just a breach of ToS/TaC/whatever. Their lawyers are too competent and fully loaded to make a huge court case out of it, still.

AC = Ass0ciated C0ntent...

And who says it is an criminal act? lol. It's them who will sue someone when they find that the person committed something serious against their Terms... The court will decide whether it was criminal or not, and whatever it decides, it can also decide what fines the person should pay or not pay...

Btw, this:
If you're going to highlight criminal behaviour,
...

shows to me that you are not an American (US citizen), are you? So let those American members think of the possibilities|eventualities, if any. Don't bother to ask needless questions please. The implications to them could be lot more serious than to us non-Americans.

I read the link, and this isn't fed law (basically a TOS). What I'm saying is there's a world of difference between a site's TOS, and committing a fed offence.

Sh!t... go argue about that with the US court judge if and when they catch you for breaking the tos and apply whatever that point #14 says... and now leave me alone, as I am done with you. lol. You might make him go mad as you did to me! hehehe. Btw it makes very clear that you're no where close to the good US of A, so what difference does a fed law/rule/offense makes to you... Enjoy breaking the T0S of a site that can use its legal might on you then to test their own knowledge about the fed law vs FB's ToS! Tell me what they say...

And I too don't give a damn to the ToS or their rules, but I do care for a friend when I know what they can do to him/her if they get a rotten itch. I have actually seen it happen on this forum. I am simply saying what I believe I should say to that friend...

I don't give a damn to those web links too. They can be so misguiding! I believe in what my inner voice says to me in such cases.... that link is the most important one for me. For sure, you need a good lawyer on your side first before beginning an OPEN campaign of ToS-rap!ing of the mighty site.

:D

srb888 no offence dude but give it a rest! You're diverting the thread into random jibberish about "your friend" and his problems with some AC or whatever..

We're all adults here we know the risks involved in mass mailing, I think you're being a little OTT with the scraping though and if I personally need legal advice I won't be seeking it from a random person on BHW

Speak to your friend in private if you really feel the need to, but quit the diverting of the thread with nonsense about breaking TOS of a site being illegal as if that was the case every SEO would be behind bars as SEO is against TOS of Google right!? I can understand you trying to warn your friend but do it in private if you really feel compelled to.

Anyone has gotten results with this yet?
So far I think 380~ emails have reached inbox, 4 clicks on my link but it has not even been 24 hours, so can't really judge yet.

Has anyone tried invite people to like you page by:
"Build Audience" > "Import Contacts" > "Upload contact list file"?

Is this a good way to invite people? It works?
Tried it, it works, but if people report you as spam your page might get unpublished.

Yes, I know how to use the program, exporting passionate members isn't working, it acts like its scraping them, then just gives an error message saying "No response from Facebook API Try again later" I opened a support ticket, 15 hours and no reply.
