Hello from a Lady Developer

Hi guys,

I've been lurking here for a while, but I feel it's time to jump in.

About me (since this is an intro!)
I'm a developer who specializes in building out cool scraping tools, API mashups and really complicated spiders. My hubby has a degree in artificial intelligence, so he helps me work through scoring mechanisms and finding ways to develop software that mimics human decision-making processes.

I am currently using this skillset to find expired domains. It's pretty addictive and I have a huge number of high quality, very old domains building up in my indexes right now. I'm currently following Jon Haver fairly closely - he's pretty smart.

I write PHP mostly so that's also helpful for digging around in the guts of Wordpress and commerce platforms like Prestashop. I also enjoy building Wordpress gadgets for my own use.

I've been a lady developer for 20+ years and still love it. I wanted to point out the "lady" part since there's very few of us.

We have had situations where a new member claimed to be female
only to find out later that it was a male.

Actually, its much better than it was, you would be astonished at how they used to greet a lady.

Because there are tons of people who pretend to be woman online for various reasons and as blackhatters we
tend to be overzealous at times thinking there is always something different behind the mask. Don't worry about
it and learn and earn!

We can always use some talent around here in the development fields.

I don't really think gender is a big deal. This isn't a dating forum so whether people believe you or not isn't your problem. As long as you contribute to the forum and help others where you can, as well as getting some value for yourself. Gender is an irrelevant issue when it comes to business, both genders and everyone in between are just as capable as each other.
