Im thinking it's time for goog to hand over the keys to someone new. I think all those recent updates were pushed out knowing this would happen. Transition quietly. Time to fire up senuke lol.
 
He says he'll be gone through October, but he decides to leave, pretty sure he isn't going to have to ever worry about money ever again.

Don't see why people are getting excited, Matt is great at his job, because he is shite. Head of spam team, what has he solved. Well he has pushed honest webmasters into spamming the fuck out of hit and run sites, because they can no longer be arsed putting effort into a website to have it whipped from under them.

Well done Matt and friends, you have successfully achieved fuck all.

Matt Cutts made his JOB - stop the spamming and making the searching better from THEIR point of view. Don't ever forget that G is a private company that is protecting its interests and MC did the best. The fact that is going to stay with the wife is the sign that he had enough and I understand him perfectly. I hope that the one that will replace him will not be able to succeed what this guy made in the last 5 years :)
 
I am sure there are plenty of scoundrels eating at the Lobster bar of Google ready
to fill his shoes.

Matt never said he was quitting. He is taking a temporary leave. He's just one of the very few public faces of Google out of countless Google employees most of us have never seen or heard of. There is probably 100 people lined up to take his position who will be willing to crack down harder than ever.
