Great info! I would definitely be doing this. Curious, which other industries this may work for as well

I know this might sound dumb but what does the CPA link contain? also which affiliate networks provide credit score CPA offers. again sorry if this sounds dumb but I am now and it is better to ask than remain ignorant.

I tend to agree. The idea of getting your traffic from posting classifieds or responding to them is going to result in a very small traffic metric. I think OP's title should read "How to make $1 dollar with 4000 hours of work" lolI would use PeerFly for the CPA offer. Can't imagine they would have a problem with this kind of traffic or promotion. I also think some people WOULD buy the credit report, but more like 1 and 10 if you are lucky. You'll need a lot of traffic.
Why would you make such a negative response without having any clue about the traffic and the response ratio? And why would you agree with someone that has no hands on knowledge as well?To make a decent buck in the internet marketing industry requires hands on testing, not wild speculating with no knowledge.

I shouldn't have been so negative. I suppose if you took 50 listings and put them on Craiglist in that specific geographic area, you could get some decent traffic.
And it works in more than just real estate/credit reports... the traffic is huge to some of these sites and the opportunities vary so you have tons of options. This business model does work.

i think im going to try this out.. has been a few years since i did anything new

Does anyone know of an image slideshow where it shows an ad every other slide?

Ok, I'm going to use this method once again and give you some real reporting numbers. The numbers will be accurate (ads placed/costs/clicks/conversions/cash) and it will take me about a week to get the process set up again.

I am not going to tell you the vertical but it will not be real estate/credit reports. It will be a legit offer to people that cruise the big classifieds online in the USA.

I'll post a report here in a week or so; please don't ask about the actual vertical as I won't share that but it is a twist of the method the OP used.

Today was test day... I wrote a couple of ads over the weekend and posted them to see if they would ghost, stick or get flagged.

Write the 2 ads - 20 minutes
Post the ads - 2 minutes
Revenue thus far for the day - 5.00

Now, I posted in some pretty quiet areas so as to see if things would still work and no problems yet. It is only about 3 and 1/2 hours into it too. I'm still lining up some outsourcers to handle the actual work but unless I test manually I think something could be lost so that was step 1.

Yesterdays take was a whopping 7.00! 2 ads, 20 minutes of my life was my investment.

Back in the day I would be posting 50 ads a day so that would work out to be about 175.00 with this tiny, tiny, tiny test.

The areas were not typically the kinds of areas I would post as they were a little slow as to traffic so that number would probably go up but on the flip side I will be outsourcing the posting 100% so that will eat up much of the extra profits.

Also, I need to spend a little time tweaking my ads but I am sure that 99% of you knew that since testing is the genesis of any successful IM venture.

I'll be back with some more info as this moves forward.

@greg, I got question about CL if you don't mind.

What other ways can CL track you? I've got the the IP's (residential) and phone verified accounts (new/old) to post but now I'm getting ghosted. I use CCleaner and use unique content on ALL my ads. I feel like I need to spoof my mac address, is that something that I should even consider?

Cheers.

It is the content usually. Sometimes the content is an issue and it ghosts - using certain words are triggers from what I remember. Also, the IP tied to the city/area is important in some sections.

That is why I am going to outsource again once I get my feet wet because there are so many variables and keeping up with them is a little bit of work.

I posted just image ads yesterday; different names, different sizes and no web site address except for what was on the image so it did not appear that I was sending traffic to a site.

So yesterday brought me another 5.00 with no more ads than the ones I posted on Monday. The CTR is very good for the ads (about 50%) once they get on the site and the conversion rate is close to 15% which is pretty high compared to just getting organic traffic to the site.

I did not put up any more ads, just relied on the ones that were put up on Monday for that action.

Now here is something to remember if you are going to embark on this... your ads will accumulate so you want to mix up the titles, content, offers and site you are directing people to in order to keep things looking realistic for the visitors to the classified sites.

Also, the volume goes up exponentially, in a small way, as you place more ads if you are mixing up the titles/content/offers/landing page. Joe visitor may go to Ad 1, do his thing so you make a few dollars, then see Ad 2 later or the next day and do a similar thing so yo make a few more dollars.

Anyway, there is an update with a very small test area and I should be able to increase those Ads and the revenue next Monday when I start to ramp it up.
