Best dedicated server hosting company?

I suggest going to webhostingtalk forums and making a post detailing the exact specs and requirements you need. Many hosting industry gurus will either recommend a couple of hosts, or try to sell you their own 
But at least they seriously know what they're talking about.
There's also a dedi offers section with some decent coupons.
PS: in the past i've used:
singlehop
softlayer
hivelocity
All 3 offer very high performance servers. Softlayer was the most costly.
If you just need a cheap server, the cheapest I've found was burst.net (got a server + cpanel for ~$35)

IMO, great servers at a good price I have ever used. I have a very traffic heavy site, and It happens to be a file sharing site as well. I'm using multiple of their servers to balance everything out, and have nothing but good things to say about them. Well, one thing actually. If you don't know what you're doing In terms of servers and configuration, they may not be the best option. I don't mind because I have been outsourcing security and maintenance for a long time now. Support Is for sure lacking, but I think they are all unmanaged servers which Is why they are so cheap (not to mention OVH Is huge and can give good deals). I have 2 custom dedicated servers with them, and a few of their regular plan servers, with pretty much all the addons they have (at least for my custom servers). Been with them a couple years now, good company IMO. They are not the only company I use though.
How Intensive are your scripts/software? What Is your traffic flow looking like?

I've been using buletproofvps for both my websites which are also with high traffic, and it's doing pretty good. I don't know exactly how high is my traffic comparative to yours because we might be in a different niche ( my sites are for binary options) but anyway this server is really fast, you can check themout

I use Host-Stage all the time and they've never disappointed me; fast support, great server up-time and their pricing is very reasonable too.
Guess it depends on your needs. Since I don't have one mega high-volume site, I don't really know how they'd perform with tons of traffic - I'd still recommend checking them out though!

If you want a good server, with great support, you might try Liquidweb... they cost a little more but they are the best in the business for dedicated boxes, and they have new cloud servers so you can spin them up whenever you want. Stay away from EIG companies, like Bluehost, Hostgator, etc etc... they are all pretty bad in my opinion. I won't recommend my company, but I will tell you I've been an ISP for over 20 years. Liquidweb is a very good company. If you want budget servers, I have a short list of those I can share. Webhostingtalk forums are a good place to check. Check the Hivelocity review there, they are cheaper than LW and pretty darn good... insane specials going on for dedicated boxes too. If you check Hivelocity out, be sure to check their "specials" page... wowzers!

I have almost 8+ dedicated servers from Softlayer,Singlehop and hivelocity , here is my recommendation:
Softlayer.com Expensive but their server hardware,uptime,response high professional! if you have enough budget for rock solid server then softlayer is best for you, contact account manager Arielle Eaton via [email protected] for special discount + Free HDD,port speed upgrades
Hivelocity.com - Their rates , hardware, network and uptime really good, contact account manager Lee via email [email protected] or livechat Refer my name ( Sharma ) you will get almost 20-30% discount+Free upgrades ( depends on your server specs), HV best for SSD based cofigs and very friendly account managers
Singlehop.com - Their charges little bit high than SL,HV! But they have very strict policies and don't break their own rules for any circumstance for their customers. Best for managed cloud servers!

guess it depends if you need an actual hosting company to manage your server or if you are capable of doing this yourself from the command line.
i've been using datashack.net. support is fast to respond usually within a few minutes, though the servers are mostly unmanaged.
