I have seen negative seo campaigns against a $1.6 million annual revenue Page #1 website which was so lucrative that the competition hammered it. Of course it fell in rankings withstanding the negative seo, didn't get deindexed, only to come back because of the proper counter seo measures. That's when I realized you have to really put the time in seo to build it right to withstand Google's algorithmic changes as well as negative seo.

Yup, every website in operation is earning $1.6 million annually and has the same financial resources to employ "proper counter SEO measures."
My guess is that you realized that ranking keywords nobody searches for is the best defense against negative SEO.
Either way your logic is severely flawed. It would be like viewing Donald Trump's daily activities on video and drawing the conclusion that all Americans live like he does. For the naive, all Americans do not live like Donald Trump nor do most websites earn $1.6 million annually. LOL

Some months back, there was a scammer who was becoming troublesome for the people whom he scammed. I got his real phone number, and called it. The first time, some male voice answered and when I mentioned the scammer's forumname, he immediately hung up. lol. I called him again many times, but he never answered. I then checked Google and got his residential land line number. I called it up, and some elderly person (by his voice) asked what I wanted. I said his son or whoever is going with the forumname in his house is scamming a good member and he will be reported to the nearest police station, as now the landline number is known. He too hung up instantly. Then again I called, a woman began shrieking that what I wanted, why I am after the person, that he is not at home... I said he is troubling a good member, and asked her just to convey to the husband or whoever he was that he is required to come on the forum and solve all the mistakes he had done. Within 24 hours he was present here.
I never said any word in anger, I tried to convince them that the person was on a wrong track and before he gets into huge legal trouble, he can put right steps forward, and that was the time to do it.... later I got a call from the woman and she thanked me for the way I helped the person and her whole family. They have small children, she said. I said it's ok now, but she should keep an eye on her husband and should take care that he doesn't make her suspicious any more.....
May be I was making a huge blunder and risking myself in this case, but I was almost sure that there will be a good result in the end... in real life, I am such a guy, so I knew what I was doing was proper, and law wouldn't hurt me if it knew why I was "pestering" someone whom I didn't know.
Point is: If you have his telephone number, call him up and put fear of the law inside his swollen head, and get him back on track. This guy is on a dangerous path and it will destroy his family. I think he is a misguided Indian youth, and he also has a very false sense of virtual immunity... These would-be-larger-criminals can still be brought back on right path... in most cases.
P.S.: At least he will know that his game is over, and he will have the legal hunters on his doorsteps very soon. In this particular guy's case, that may be the only option left. His bad...
