So this was my first experience with Flippa, and I got scammed and lost $2000.

I bought a website and he claimed the winner would get $500-600 a month and 90 days full support for questions etc.
I chose to use Escrow (so I could dump another 65+15 in the toilet).

So he installed the website on my server and it looked like I was getting good traffic and impressions on the ad network. He told me it wasn't instant so clicks and revenue would show the following day. He was eager for me to release the Escrow money before the weekend, and he seemed nice and all seemed legit.

Next day - still no revenue or clicks. I started looking a little deeper on the stats, and 95%+ was purchased traffic... He comforted me and said it will keep coming, it is not paid for, etc.
When I asked him if it was a scam he stopped answering my E-mails.

So yes, I could go back and wish I wouldn't have released the money, wish I would've done better research etc. But I guess I still have faith in humanity (dumb mistake).

Just wanted to vent...

It's okay dude, I'm sure you can get another 2000$ .
the important thing that you've learned the lesson, keep working and hoping :) .
I wish you good luck.

I'm sorry that you lost $2000.my friendly suggestion is if you are not alert all the time you will loose more.

So sorry to hear man next time make sure you do your due diligence....

Sorry for your loss op. 2K is not a small amount to go down the drain.. Always ask for detailed reports and check stats yourself before buying.

Can you send me your url of the Flippa auction please by pm ?
Thanks

Sorry to hear that dude , I dont think you can get your money back now , You should know that if someone is making you to take a quick decision in buying something then 90% of the cases they are trying to scam you . Same shit happened to me when a dude approached me with an iphone 4s , spent 500$ on it and after going home i noticed it was a fake one .

Sorry to hear that my friend.

You should post his information here or PM me. Maybe I can help you. For free of course.

So you released the money from Escrow because he seemed nice?

Sorry for your loss but he saw you coming.

You don't have to lose your faith in humanity but just realise not everybody has the same values as you.

I hope you have success in future. Good Luck

can you pm the flippa url please.

Screenshots is too easy to fake. This is not foolproof but i always ask seller for video of their earnings. video from logging to their account then display their stats.

sorry to hear about your loss btw.

We'll sorry for your lost but you can post his username here so people can mark him as a scamers and avoid his Listning

Sorry to hear about your loss. Always use teamviewer to see their stats and earning.

Well, I will learn learn from the experience and try and make the best out of it. I do get around 1300 uniques a day, coming form Germany, Russia, Sweden, France. Not sure it i can monetize it at all. I guess I'll give the website a revamp and I should have better luck with Adsense than with the ad network that is currently used.

Wish me luck.

Good luck mate, and PM me some info if you want me to try and dig out that lil a$$hole

hey man

very sad to hear that.

I hate fucking scammers like those.

Next time just be careful and never ever release money unless you are completely satisfied

Hope you earn your 2k back

Thanks

You should have verified the earnings first before releasing the escrow payment. You learned a lesson here, so from next time verify the traffic source, and do not release escrow for atleast 2-3 days.

That sucks man seriously, it's one of the reason I will probably never purchase a website off a random person I don't know
