I used adblock plus + flashblock extension. They remove about 90% of annoying things in the internet.

Flashblock is also useful for stopping videos from autoplaying.

On a YouTube video when a pre video ad starts playing and you let it play for the full duration of say 1:00min the owner does not get paid. As mentioned above as well by members some earn after 30sec in rare cases. If you get paid for a full ad video watch why not buy 100k HR views to your video and earn big time? Please do correct me if I am wrong and I mean no disrespect as we are all here to learn right.

Same here. I also use the NoScript add on which is a great combo all together like you mentioned!

Differentiate! A guy like pewdiepie puts almost no effort into his videos yet earns tons of money. Vsauce on the other side puts a whole lot of effort into his vids and gets less, thats where i would deactivate my ABP

I love ads, I want more ads, ads make me money and if I'm not up with the pack
I'm following behind.
I don't see how anyone can call themselves a marketer and not study advertising,
What works, what sucks, what formulas people are using to get visitors to click the "buy now" button.
Am I the only member with a "please post junk mail" sign on their front door?

You'll watch an hour of youtube videos and then make a post asking why your offers aren't converting.
I only watch the ads then open another tab and get on with some work while listening to the tune.

There is something wrong with this statement when I try to apply it to my case:

1. I never click YouTube ads even the rare relevant ones - so it makes no sense for me to keep getting annoyed.

2. Suppose I wanted to support the content creators and click on the ads just for the sake of it... The content creator will get his money from my click, but I'm not going to buy anything, so whoever payed for that ad is going to waste money

3. The more people will block AdSense the better (in terms of diversity) the world will become in my eyes, and the less competition there will be per platform

Its not just YouTube though. Adblock gets rid of ads on all websites and regardless of how annoying they are, website owners should be compensated for their work.

Also, I see tons of Google AdWords ads on YouTube and I am more than happy to click on those to support a great YouTube channel. I give money to AdWords and they can give some of that money to the YouTube channel. The channel also gets compensated for a 30 second impression, correct?

I just think it is hypocritical to block ads when most of us are, in fact, generating our revenue through ads. As annoying as they are, they make the internet better.

If everyone used adblock the internet would be pretty awful and many of us would be out of our jobs. I totally understand your reasoning and your allowed to disagree with me but I believe that ads are a good thing for the internet.

I use Adblock. Havn't seen a YouTube ad for years. Well.. havn't seen any ads lol.

And I still call myself a marketer. Marketing isn't just advertising, its learning about markets.

If your a advertiser, and blocking ads, than it makes sense. But idgaf about ads.

I logged onto BHW from a different computer and was overwhelmed by the number of ads after not seeing any for so long. I even disabled signatures here.

Am I the only one that actually only gets video ads from business like vodacom, shops etc. on every single video? Sounds like you guys actually get ads from actual marketer campaigns and that kind of stuff.

By the way, Adblock Plus whitelists a lot of stupid shit, and therefore, you will still see advertisements in different locations. You'd think the oppososite, but the good ol' "Adblock" is much better.

Marketing isn't just advertising" and what about CPA Offers?PPD,Content Lockers, Clickbank products etc. Its not like we just make money from ads right... There is probably 100s of people viewing our video and website ads/adsense etc that use adblock and do you think they care? Hell No!

Nobody likes advertisements unless they're making them money. Isn't that how it always works? So what if OP blocks his ads, he's entitled to his own opinion on advertisements during YouTube videos.

IF I ever did watch television and IF there were ever some sort of add-on in which would allow me to block all commercials in which waste 3 minutes of my precious time repeatedly, I'd use it. And its like me asking you Why do countless other people share old or non well know methods on the forum? No secret meaning its not like hidden or something you need to search hours for to get. But a lot of people might not know about it or would like to use something to block ads and wanted to know what they can use. Since when do we need a reason to share something on BHW?
