Hi all,

I started to got involved in IM back in September when I found this forum, as I've been doing a lot of freelance Web Design work outside of my day job, but I want a better way of generating a regular monthly income.

I work as a Web Developer for a very large company in the UK, so designing high quality websites and getting them online is something that I can do very quickly and easily.

I started building a few sites back in October, using the advice that I gather from this forum EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I started building an authority site in October and it's slowly climbing up the ranks for all my keywords, but recently I've discovered something that I want to share with you guys....

Social signals seem to have by far the biggest impact on my rank...

I implement all the popular techniques on this forum and nothing seems to boost the rank of my site as much as social signals.

I will simply post a couple of 300 -700 word articles on my website, then I will share the articles on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Within 2 days my website will literally jump up in rank for several of my keywords and nothing else I try has this effect.

I just wanted to share these findings with you guys as I find that Social Media has had a much bigger impact on my Google rankings than anything else I am currently doing.

Hope this helps somebody. :):)

I see the same effect on my site, it definitely matters.

Thanks for the share - I wasn't sure that SS made such a difference. Does the ranking come back down again after a week or so if they're not continued (i.e. is the SERP rise only very temporary)?

My ranks don't appear to drop in Serpbook at all. The changes in position are definitely sticking and I only add between 2 and 4 500 articles every week.

I have experienced drops in some cases, but they've bounced right back up in the SERPs once I resumed the social signals. But yeah OP is absolutely right, and I've been saying it for a year now. Social signals are huge. Use them.

Yeah social signals is the way, i did it too on my site and it also bump up on search engine!

"then I will share the articles on Facebook, Twitter and Google+."
^^^ 1. you just put the link to the blogpost in the FB post and Twitter Tweet? Does it matter if they get likes? Shares? For example more likes = bigger boost in SERPs?
2. You have Google + profile for your website and simple post the url, right?

Thx!

Thanks for sharing, OP. Yeah, social signals are the shit lately. Especially signals coming from Google properties, I wonder why ;)

I've also experienced similar improvements for client websites, the twist was to ask active people to like or +1 certain pages, not every single page.

The same thing happened to me too
When all the SEO techniques i learned here and there did not helped me
I switched to social sites, just experimenting, and Guess what i am now using only pinterest repins, stubmeupon shares and facebook shares to rank my sites
And currently generating 5k UV's/Day from search engine for pages that i have ranked

That is the power of Social Media

A thing that i`m trying to understand- do you have legit social profiles with real followers or do u use social signals providers? I use social signals providers and I don`t see any improvements in rankings.

SEOs who analyze coincidental correlations and are skilled in naive hypothesis optimizations have known this to be true for years and created a market for social signals with many similarities to more traditional SEO service markets.

yep, social signals work wonders if you don't overdo it. Are you getting natural shares once your posts are on f, G and t or is it just your own shares?

Yes everytime I post a new article, I will just post them to the Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages for my website. Occasionally they will get Organic shares, but it still works good if it's just me doing it.
